Minor-major CRT, I thought I'd review all the high-end haxes DC characters have after seeing a lot of unjustified ones.
Acausality
Plot Manipulation
Acausality
- Chrysalis (Eternity Girl) has Type 1 and Type 4 Acausality with the following justification: "Has seemingly broke free of the narrative itself, managing to exist upon the blank page in which the comic is drawn, and having been unaffected by the continuity being reseted after Retconn's attempts to erase it were thwarted." Though Type 1 Acausality is fine, saying she "broke free of the narrative itself" just seems like resistance to plot manipulation and seems too unspecific for Type 4 Acausality, so this should be changed to that.
- Mister Mxyzptlk has the following Type 4 Acausality justification: "Doesn't operate under the natural laws of the universe.[91] Was stated to have transcended[77] the laws of physics and nature.[79]" Saying he doesn't operate under the universe's natural laws just means he operates under the Fifth Dimension's different physics, and physics ≠ causality without precise evidence, while saying he "transcends physics and nature" in those scans literally just means his powers violate known physics, which is a given for anything supernatural, ever, so this ability should be removed.
- Brainiac (Post-Flashpoint), Death of the Endless, Delirium of the Endless, Desire of the Endless, Despair of the Endless, Destiny of the Endless, Destruction of the Endless, Dream of the Endless, Elaine Belloc, Glory of the First Circle, Jill Presto, Mazikeen, Michael Demiurgos, Swamp Thing (Classic), and The Great Darkness all have no justification for their Causality Manipulation at all, so all this should be axed.
- Other deletions:
- Darkseid (Pre-Flashpoint) has (Omega Beams can erase their target from existence, making it so they never were), which is just exceptionally potent EE + Time Manipulation.
- Doctor Manhattan has (Returned the Metaverse to how it was before his interference and removed 10 years from the universes' timeline, creating the New 52), which is just Time Manipulation.
- Lucifer Morningstar (DC Comics) has (The titans ascended to godhood and became immune to all forms of power other than their own, to defeat them Lucifer killed the titans before they had ascended to godhood, thus destroying the event of them ever becoming God[14]), which is just him changing history by killing someone in the past to kill them in the present and isn't a hax.
- Perpetua has (Manipulated events throughout space and time, leaving a piece of the Totality across time for Vandal Sandal who will recruit the Luthors to found a way to unlock her powers as she planned to free herself from the Source Wall), which is just a combination of her manipulating events in the universe and arrogant, villainous gloating.
- Starbreaker (Pre-Flashpoint) has (As explained here[9]), which is just time travel.
- Superboy (Jonathan Lane Kent) (New 52)/Superboy (Kon-El) (New 52) have (Due to traveling multiple times through time,[6] his body now produces tachyon particles which feeds the universe itself. And because of that, Kon was kicked out of the universe by the universe itself as it was not sure how to contain him. Outside, he and Kon - whose body also produces tachyon energies - merged and their union was a catalyst that created a new mini/pocket universe.[7][8] However, Jon did almost all the work. When current Jon met his slightly earlier version, their touch - as well as the union between Kon and Jon, created a temporal shell[3] around the N.O.W.H.E.R.E. facility, and created a new mini universe - in which countless Superboys[3] from across the multiverse pouring into it.[7] At the end, Jon killed his other self and destroyed the new reality, as well as the time barrier/temporal loop that was covering the facility.[7][8]), which has nothing to justify causality hax.
- Worlogog (Post-Crisis) has (Extant erases the day Jay Garrick received his powers.[1] Hourman reknits the flow of time[2]), which is just Time Manipulation.
- Captain Atom (Post-Crisis) has this justification: "Nathaniel is the Avatar of the Quantum Field, which is one of the primal aspects of the cosmos.[7] He is connected to the field very deeply and can manipulate it in numerous ways, such as even creating his own universe in it.[21]" Quantum fields are a real thing that make up the fabric of our reality at the deepest level, with all particles being excitations of energy in them where they don't perfectly cancel themselves, and they're not conceptual in the slightest, so this should be axed.
- Black Racer, Despair of the Endless, Destiny of the Endless, Gabriel Hornblower, Mandrakk the Dark Monitor, Nix Uotan, Pralaya (DC Comics), Rox Ogama, The Monitors (DC Comics), The Thought Robot, and Yuga Khan all have no justification for their Conceptual Manipulation at all, so all this should be axed.
- The Presence should scale to his sons' Conceptual Manipulation and Father Time (Vertigo) should scale to Mother Night (Vertigo)'s CM. (these are additions, not removals)
- Chrysalis (Eternity Girl), Hal Jordan, and Pralaya (DC Comics) have no justifications for their DM, so it should be removed.
- Death of the Endless's justification merely states that the Endless are wave functions, which isn't a valid justification for DM, so it should be removed.
- Zauriel (Post-Crisis) and The Spectre should have their HDE removed, as HDE only applies to characters that are geometrically higher-dimensional, which is not how these two characters qualify for qualitative superiority.
- Cyborg Superman, Super-Man, Sodam Yat, and Validus have no justifications for their Invulnerability at all, so they should have it removed.
- Brainiac (Pre-Crisis)'s Invulnerability is based solely on how Superman described his forcefield as impregnable one time, which is a textbook NLF, so this should be removed.
- Firestorm (Pre-Crisis) has (Side effect of his altered molecular structure[1]) as his justification, which plainly only refers to how his molecular structure makes him more durable, so this should be removed.
- Saint of Killers has (Seems to be immune from physical harm), which plainly isn't enough solid evidence to justify invulnerability; remove it.
- Gabriel Hornblower has no justification for his Law Manipulation, so remove it.
- Superman (Pre-Crisis) has Super-Mathematics (The scan isn't on the profile, but I know it's this), but this just refers to how his math skills are far better than any human, not any kind of power over math; remove it.
The Thought Robot should have PM by scaling to Mandrakk.(this is an addition, not a removal)
- Destruction of the Endless has no justification for this power, so remove it.
Father Time (Vertigo),Gabriel Hornblower, and Mother Night (Vertigo)have no justifications for their Void Manipulation, so remove it.- Nightmare Nurse (DC Comics) has (Created a vessel that protected those on it from a universal void[5]), which is resistance to Void Manipulation, not Void Manipulation itself, so change this to that.
- The Spectre has (Can banish others into nothingness outside space and time), which is just BFR, so change this to that.
