    This is true, Merry had a Numenorean blade from the Time of Arnor, which was specifically designed to kill the witch king. But the blade itself was not part of the prophecy, the Witch King does not have some overarching defensive power against male characters

    It's not actually a resistance to male characters, it's more so that Glorfidnel saw the future and he knew he would die to a women, he doesn't have some sort of magical protection exclusively against males, its simply that he was destined to Die to Eowyn
