There's nothing I have to say to that which wouldn't ultimately just repeat something myself, Bambu, or Catzlaflame already said. In any case we are not taking action against the user for this. The matter should be considered closed.
The nature of Bambu's response was provoked not only by the manner in which you responded to the original comment, but also the way in which you responded to Catzlaflame.
You had the option of explaining to Slend that it is a sensitive topic and ask him not to make those sorts of jokes. That...
I don't believe so. It's possible others will have counterarguments they'd like to make, but much of this is exceedingly straightforward. The Causality Manip especially.
I'm aware, I'm saying they're not contradicted by the game. The game is ambiguous, and the ambiguity here is cleared up by the secondary canon.
"Primarily" and "only" are different here. In any case, my view on the matter is clear. I don't think this is sufficient evidence for Poison Resistance.
Poison and ripping someone's soul from their body are mechanically very different. In any case, I decided to go through the novels and look for how poison is treated to see if Kratos has any kind of resistance to speak of.
Against a scorpion:
Against a Naiad:
I don't think we're meant to...
I guess my question is, what precisely do we think Kratos is doing here?
Like, is he just mustering some internal form of resistance to overcome the effect?
As Catzlaflame pointed out, in order for us to conclude that he resisted it in some way, we should have some kind of baseline of what we would expect to happen to someone who cannot resist it. Without that information all we actually know is that this poison damages and stuns Kratos. What if...
Sure. This is the full justification:
Death Manipulation and Power Absorption (Survived having sex with Aphrodite's twin daughters Zora and Lora, whereas everyone else died doing the deed, with Kratos being completely unaware of the situation until after he had done the deed and they had told...
The original thread included the other justifications and arguments against them as well. KLOL brought up the other justifications here and Fuji argued against them on the first page. However, IMO the Priest being able to absorb his power is a pretty overt anti-feat which means he does not have...
So if I understand correctly, we're sort of cognizing this as like an activated resistance? He is affected by it (takes damage/stunned) but he can sort of react to it and after a few seconds shake off the effects?
I can sort of see that as being a form of Limited Resistance to Poison...
Yeah that's just time manip. This specific use-case can be achieved with causality manip, but through a different mechanism. For Causality Manip we would expect some indication that the reason this is happening is because the character is directly influencing the laws of cause/effect, not just...
I'd like to explore this a bit more. Given the common tone of these threads I want to say ahead of time that I don't mean anything negative by the questions/arguments. I respect that you have a different view on it.
My hang up is essentially: If we're to think of Kratos as having a resistance...
Many are likely aware of this from the RVR report, but nonetheless:
@Mr. Bambu @Firestorm808 @Damage3245 @CrimsonStarFallen @Sir_Ovens @Maverick_Zero_X @Wokistan @Ultima_Reality @AbaddonTheDisappointment @DarkGrath @Everything12
I am sure many of you are not interested in God of War, feel free...
Self evident. If a vampire bites me on the next to drain my health, but i push him off before he manages to take any, I don't have a resistance.
He's clearly affected by it. I'd expect some sort of "shake it off" quick time event from any verse with this sort of mechanic.
Indeed this is not...
I agree it should be reopened. The initial thread was massive, and the issues with some of the feats are self-evident, I pointed out as such in this comment.
A more thorough and individualized review is needed to ensure this, and I don't think it's appropriate to force Fuji to wait several...
You're fully entitled to your own opinion. But the point of my comment was "the Priest thing" and the issue with the votes on it as-is. If you detract from that with a work-around argument that none of the voting staff advocated for, I of course have to point that out.
Similarly, the provided...
I wouldn't bring it up if Planck's response had been "Well he has it from other stuff, but we can remove this scan from the justification" but instead said:
Or the "Mind BFR" rebuttal:
I recognize that I make mistakes, so, please keep me honest here KLOL. Where does the scan say the word...
Yes, but the vote is essentially my "agree" vs Planck x 7 with Abaddon's small handful of dissents. Glass will agree with Planck. Even if Bambu and Grath see things differently it'd take another 8 votes to pass this as is, assuming no one else says they agree with Planck.
The issue with threads...
@Mad_Dog_of_Fujiwara Would you prefer to simply apply the accepted changes, close this thread, and pursue the rest in smaller batches later, so the issues with them can get the appropriate attention?
I think Eficiente has valid concerns about the extent to which we assume that what is said about the Olympians must also apply to Asgardians, but regardless of that, for me this phrase is sufficient for AE type 2: "As long as there is belief or knowledge of a God, he will live."
Eficiente...
It is. The alternative would just be "appeal to popularity." However, having staff only is meant to avoid everything being decided by each verse's fans, because the majority of participants on a thread are -- by nature -- fans of the series and are inclined to agree with upgrades and protest...
The ability occurs over a period of time. If you don't throw him off fast enough your mana starts going down over time, and then it stops whenever you finally throw him off. If you manage to throw him off really really fast you can avoid any mana loss but Kratos very concretely is not resistant...
I think given that RvB dwarfs everything else in the category in terms of being well known, we should probably just bite the bullet and use something like this, where it will be abundantly clear that it is not simply referring to Halo:
Google search trends, same as Bambu.
I guess I don't see the need to pick an ongoing series. Our "books" image is not ongoing, for instance.
Also a good option.
I added "Homestuck" to that comparison chart and it still seems to come out ahead of Madness Combat and BFDI, but below Red vs Blue. Given the "looks like Halo" issue I still think Homestuck makes the most sense.
I kind of thing Homestuck is still the better option here. I'm not exactly an internet verse connoisseur but that's one of the few that cut through the noise in terms of me being aware of it, even if its over now.
