Angron is hard wired in the most literal sense to be pure rage. He's got a thing in his brain called the Butcher's Nail that does it to him. Kharn getting beat down by him happened because he went into a state of bloodlust so deep that nobody could calm him down enough for him yo actually do stuff and stop killing his own men. Kharn was the only one sent in to try to calm him down to live. That lasted a while.
