Miscellaneous
First off Caleb's profile should have two keys, one for the first game and its add-ons and one for the second- second key has new weapons and is stronger so it makes sense IMO.The Beast profile also should have two keys, one for the human form and one for the current profile.
Also this is a very minor thing but I think this artwork from Blood 2 first Caleb a lot better as a profile page- it's a full-body drawing, it shows him doing what he does best and it's a bit less edgy
Stats
The current Blood ratings come from Blood II's Naga, which can allegedly cause Magnitude 5 earthquakes when it shakes the room. However, as our own Earthquake page states, "For the purpose of these calculations shaking a minor area should not be assumed to automatically translate to an earthquake. Either a large area being shaken or evidence that we are dealing with something earthquake-like and not just some minor shaking would be needed."As far as I can tell, there is no such evidence, the Naga just shakes the room and causes some debris to fall. Considering it was an abandoned, old and reality-warped Cathedral, that's not really a quantifiable feat at all. But I do have some feats I've calculated myself.
There's multiple of 'em, but the highest one I've got is the 8-C dam explosion in E3M6 from the original game. I've made my argument as to why Caleb should fully scale to it in the blog itself, but I'll paste it here. "You cannot survive the explosion of all the barrels if you position yourself above them. But you CAN survive one or two barrels' worth of explosion point-blank, and more importantly you can easily survive the actual explosion that blows up through the dams, and considering the distance between the barrels and the hole would mean that the AP of the part of the explosion causing the destruction of the dam is lower than the full thing thanks to Inverse Square Law, I think it's fine to scale Caleb to the dam's destruction."
Hopefully that makes sense- if people disagree which I think is still very understandable then we can cut the result by 6 since Caleb can unquestionably survive one blast. That lands the feat into 9-A, supporting another 9-A explosion in the blog.
If you wanna know how these calcs end up scaling to Caleb's Striking Strength, well he stomps through Shial's abdomen after killing/weakening her, and Shial can survive multiple hits from his explosives.
As for his weaker weapons, those that don't necessarily scale to the explosions in sheer AP and hurt 8-C enemies through piercing/fire, those can be 9-B through destroying stalactites and being very superior to Flare Guns that do the same. That ends up scaling to fodder enemies alongside zombies smashing through a wall. The only enemies that don't scale to this are Cultists (In Striking Strength, they can still survive a few hits from Zombies if you get them to in-fight so their durability scales) and small enemies like Choking Hands and Spiders.
The current Lifting Strength Rating comes from Caleb tearing open Gabriel's chest but I calculated it and it's Class 5 now, yay. They don't have a page as of now but I actually think Zombies scale to this- Choking Hands are just the remains of Zombies, and they can choke Caleb just fine, although he can pull them off so it's downscaling.
Oh also this is a minor thing but Gabriella is actually physically stronger than Caleb, according to the website and the manual. Does that really make any sense lore-wise? No but it's consistent with other statements and in-game stats, you could blame it on the Singularity Generator bringing her back stronger or on Blood II's unfinished story, you do you. I've seen the note on Gabriella's page but I disagree with it, it's true that Caleb defeated (a clone of) her but that was through skill, not strength- both use guns anyway, it's not like strength matters too much when those come into play. Same applies to the other monsters he defeated- skill, not strength. Gabriella was confident she was at least comparable to Caleb if that helps.
Now here's the big one, Caleb should get "Low 2-C Environmental Destruction over time". This comes from him inheriting Tchernobog's powers, but his inability to use them led to another reality slowly beginning to encroach on the Blood universe and devour it. Caleb does end up managing to control this power, so he should have access to it, although it's not really usable in combat. And it's not a one-way thing where Caleb can prevent the destruction of the world but not cause it. Of course this was originally Tchernobog's ability so he gets it too.
Abilities
Caleb- Blood 1
- Power Absorption - Now I know this was previously rejected, but hear me out. The explanation for Caleb having become The One That Binds is that he is a "living conduit of the power of every individual he's killed" - That very clearly implies he absorbs the magic powers of everything he kills. The reason he doesn't appear to have access to any of the magic of those he kills beyond Tchernobog's binding abilities is very simple... he doesn't know he does. He literally has to be told that he inherited Tcherny's powers by Ishmael, and it's not even clear if he fully figures out how to use them. All these abilities are completely useless to him in VS Matches, but they should still be listed for the sake of completion. Here's a list, and keep in mind I only included abilities that are clearly magic-based beyond any ambiguity, so he's not gonna be growing wings anytime soon just cause he's killed gargoyles. It also doesn't include Ishmael's abilities cause those are done through equipment.
- Fire Manipulation, Soul Manipulation, BFR, Reality Warping, Immortality and Possession, Madness Manipulation, Resistance to Soul and Electricity Manipulation - Tchernobog
- Portal Creation - Naga
- Transformation - Beast - Fun fact, the Beasts' sprite comes from what used to be a super form Caleb was going to have, but was eventually scrapped. This doesn't mean anything VBSW-wise I just think it's neat that he ends up getting the ability anyway. Honestly you could argue he does anyway as a member of the Chosen and so do the others but that's too vague for me
- Energy Projection - Gideon
- Statistics Amplification and Healing - Zealots
- (Some of these go in the Blood II key for obvious reasons)
- Sound Manipulation - Shattered the coffin he was buried in with an anguished scream
- Resistance to Extreme Temperatures- Caleb can dip in arctic waters without even feeling it, and step on molten metal albeit that hurts him
- Resistance to Disease Manipulation - Can swim in sewers without issue.
- Acrobatics - Can jump on enemies' heads and use them as platforms. Note that this isn't an engine thing, other Build Engine games don't have this happen, the Blood devs specifically programmed this in.
- Vibration/Shockwave Manipulation - With the Life Leech
- Clairvoyance - With the Crystal Ball
- Explosion Manipulation - I really don't need to explain this one
- Self-Sustenance (Type 1) - Can breathe and fight in space
- Damage Reduction - That's what the armors should be considered IMO, not Statistics Amplification since they... y'know, reduce damage, they don't make Caleb physically tougher. It's implied the Super Armor protects him magically too considering it also provides Fire and Soul armor points. "Resistance to Bullets" should also be removed and included here.
- Distance Negation Removal - That's not really a thing, it's just hax I guess.
- Pain Manipulation - Through the Voodoo Doll, should be pretty self-explanatory. Keep in mind it's the only weapon in the game that forces enemies to flinch. Also the part where it says that "Waving a hand across one of the dolls instantly kills a target and severely harms those nearby" is wrong, various boss characters can survive it and it just deals damage, doesn't have any special properties. The weapon still has Death Manipulation since it will kill enemies with a couple uses, causing heavy bleeding and completely melting them if they're undead which wouldn't happen if it was just pain. But even on a normal dude it does take a couple stabs.
- Resistance to Fall Damage Removal
- Resistance to Soul Manipulation becomes Limited- Your average cultist or civilian can also survive a little bit damage from the Life Leech so just doing that shouldn't be considered a feat- but Caleb can survive way more so he still gets the ability.
- Life Manipulation and Resistance to it - The Life Leech is said to drain the life energy of its foes- and Caleb's too
- Resistance to Madness Manipulation - Can resist Tchernobog's gaze
- Blood 2
- Enhanced Senses - Could sense Gideon's smell despite being in a sewer
- Energy Projection - With Death Ray
- Poison Manipulation - With Insect-A-Cutioner
- Reality Warping and Black Hole Creation - With Singularity Generator, provided we give the ability to users who can't create "true" black holes, page isn't clear on the subject
- Enhanced Senses - With Night Vision Goggles
- Resistance to Poison Manipulation - Doesn't have any issues breathing in 2028's corrupted atmosphere. Can withstand a venomous bite from Thieves which is said to destroy the nervous system, and while he will be disoriented and eventually killed he can recover from non-lethal injections very quickly, despite it effectively being brain damage.
- Proof that Caleb has Immortality Type 1 and not just Longevity
- Same as above + Type 4 (considering he implies he literally cannot die)
- Beast - Scan addition for their stomp ignoring armor, also it should also be Vibration Manip.
- The Naga - Reality Warping (Warped the architecture of a cathedral)
- Shial - Acid Manipulation (Digests people alive, which implies it eats them just like normal spiders do- by melting their insides with acid then sucking them up)
- Tchernobog - Deconstruction - Instantly killed a cultist, and according to the manual for Blood he melted him and the rest of a procession to the point of not even dust remaining. Currently it's listed as Matter Manip but I think this fits a little more.
- Tchernobog - Telepathy - Spoke to Ishmael back when he worked for a circus
- Tchernobog - Empowerment - Tchernobog grows in power as time passes because his powers are not yet complete
- Tchernobog - Incorporeality Removal - He quite clearly can be shot and affected by normal guns while incorporeal ghosts can't.
- All these abilities outside of Shial's also go to Caleb cause of Power Absorption
