So in naruto retsuden there’s this scene

-VUUN!

A red beam was fired, followed by a low buzz, where photons displaced molecules.

Not knowing how to operate the bicycle, Naruto instinctively bowed the bicycle alongside his body

The laser beam, without curvature, passed by Naruto's ear and immediately hit the fence of a private house

Someone I was debating used this feat to prove that Naruto is FTL in base and other than me not being sure about the canonicity of the novel I can’t find any fault with this feat, Naruto dodges the beam after it’s fired so I don’t think it’s aim dodging like the other feats in the novel

No, there was a thread to remove it as being FTL if I recall correctly because we don't know how far Naruto moves in relation to the beam. A character can dodge a bullet without necessarily being as fast or faster than the bullet.

Since it mentions that the beam goes right by Naruto's ear, it is likely he only moved a short distance in relation to the beam.

If I'm not mistaken, that Naruto had some kind of precognition? I remember that he dodged it but because he knew where they were going (I haven't read the novel)
