Alex's Tenacity would only be delaying the inevitable as Meta Knight's Death Manipulation gives Meta Knight power over Alex's Demon Eyes of Absurd Death (seemingly Alex's main weapon). Meta Knight takes advantage of this and incapacitates Alex.
