Two characters but one profile

So, I have a question. When there are instances in fiction where two characters are consistently portrayed as fighting side by side, should they be treated under the same profile, or should they still be separated?

In this particular case, there's a game that I won't name for now. It has a character composed of two figures, yet the game still treats them as a single character. They're obviously distinct individuals, but the game presents them as one unit (for example, something along the lines of “X and Y” being a single playable character).

This isn't something that comes out of nowhere, either. Their lore is rooted in a form of cosmic duality, where the two essentially exist as counterparts to one another.

Separate profiles for each other, but in versus matchups, you have to like include both of them (if one can't function with the other person amongst other things)
Versus Threads that involve more than two characters (i.e. a 2v1) will only be added to profiles under specific circumstances, which are:
  • If a character canonically needs another character to fight at their full potential (i.e. Naofumi Iwatani and Raphtalia)
  • If one character is useless on their own (i.e. Gentle Criminal and La Brava)
  • If two characters are canonically known for fighting alongside one another frequently and supplement each other's skills in combat (i.e. Twinrova, Ice Climbers, and Batman and Robin)

Nevermind, I read that wrong, it shouldn't be a different profile if it's a matter of choosing whether the protagonist is a male or female imo since the game clearly treats them as one character instead of two
