I've returned to give my input—Death Battle style.
Attack Potency/Durability
Saitama has a 2.11x advantage, which doesn't seem like much at first glance, but then there's scaling. As I sort of said before, Saitama is the Apex Predator of the OPM universe; he's supposed to be superior to everyone in every possible physical category. He's the verse's strongest
High 6-C character, putting him above
Awakening Breath Bang,
Superalloy Darkshine,
Elder Centipede, and
Base Boros. So with scaling like that, he can easily one-shot anyone below
421.23 Gigatons of TNT. So if Metro Man gets hit ONCE, he's pretty much toast. So Saitama definitely scores a point here.
Speed
Metro Man has a 1.71x advantage, which isn't enough to blitz, but it's enough to avoid Saitama's physical attacks for a while, so he gets a point in this category, which is one of the equalizers in this match.
Lifting Strength
At first glance, Metro Man should take this considering he's
Class G . At the same time, Saitama is only
Superhuman via scaling to
Light Pull Cord, who can throw cars and trucks (Why the hell is this rated
Superhuman when it's clearly
Class 5 at the very least???), giving Metro Man a whooping 291,636,096x advantage. But there's a problem: Saitama's LS is not specified in the OP, and based on the rules provided by
SBA, it's assumed Saitama is at his strongest, meaning he is currently at least
Class E. This greatly turns the tables and puts Saitama at an 8,914,340x advantage, meaning Metro Man can't restrain or manhandle him, giving Saitama a second point.
Stamina
This one is a no-brainer. Saitama's stamina is far above Metro Man's. Don't get me wrong, MM taking a full-day trip around Metro City while contemplating his purpose in life in less than 0.03 seconds is impressive, but it's nowhere near as impressive as Saitama's, who famously underwent a mundane yet vigorous training regimen for three years straight without taking an off-day. Saitama does state that it put immense strain on his body to the point his limbs were numb, he started coughing up blood, and almost died as a result, yet he managed to survive and break his limiter through sheer determination. Saitama scores another point.
Powers/Versatility
Metro Man has several advantages here; he has true flight, which he can use to avoid Saitama's attacks and maintain a literal high ground over him. I doubt full-haired Saitama is as agile as his future self, but he could probably reach Metro Man with consecutive leaps (Kind of like All Might), though Metro Man still retains enough speed to avoid him. Metro Man also has Heat Vision, which Saitama has no resistance to, not to mention Metro Man could repeatedly spam it from a safe distance. So I think Metro Man gets a point on this one.
Combat Skill/Experience
Metro Man has spent decades protecting Metro City from crooks and fighting Megamind, who wields a wide arsenal of weapons and technology. I'm not sure if Metro Man ever fought the Doom Syndicate because I couldn't be asked to watch the ''sequel'' and TV Series. While pretty much all of Megamind and Metro Man's fights happened off-screen, Megamind does describe these fights as ''legendary''. Considering there was a picture of Metro Man seemingly facing Megamind in a massive mech suit, it's likely that one of their fights was similar to the
first fight between Megamind and Tighten. Saitama, on the other hand, has only been a hero for 1.5 years, but has fought a variety of monsters. Unfortunately, almost all of these fights happened off-screen, too, but there is clear confirmation that they all ended in
one punch. This is going to be a bit of a hot take, but I believe Metro Man is vastly more skilled and experienced. I don't think full-haired Saitama is as skilled as his current/parallel selves, and frankly, you don't learn much from fights if you instantly end them with one punch. It's the same issue with Homelander: despite being one of the strongest beings in his universe, the comics confirm he has no skill or formal combat training —what's the point of training if you can just end a fight with minimal effort? The same also applied to DBZ Frieza, but at least he knew how to fight. I think Metro Man gets another point here.
Based on these categories, it seems like a draw. But here's
the thing: I don't like draws, and this isn't Death Battle.
Overview
Saitama has a solid AP advantage, while MM has a solid Speed advantage. For most of the fight, the latter is going to have no issue dodging Saitama's simplistic attacks. The frustrating thing about MM, however, is that we have no idea how he used to fight; the only person we can really compare him to is Tighten, but he is evidently more reckless and destructive. Based on what we know, MM is basically the opposite, meaning it's unlikely that he'll spam heat vision like Tighten, but that doesn't mean MM won't take the fight seriously (In the famous super speed scene,
it's revealed that Metro Man could've instantly ended the fight against Megamind before it even began but he didn't because he was going through an existential crisis and it's heavily implied that Metro Man never saw Megamind as a benevolent threat), though technically both fighters are taking this match seriously because of SBA. One thing I haven't brushed upon yet is Saitama's Accelerated Development. The longer the fight goes on and the more determined Saitama becomes to win, the faster his stats increase, including speed. Eventually, Saitama will match MM's speed and clobber him. The only way Metro Man can win is by spamming his heat vision or ending the fight quickly before Saitama adapts. But to me, the most realistic ending to this fight is Saitama adapting to Metro Man's stats and one-shotting him.
In short. I vote Saitama
