Versus matches for weapons?

The primary purpose of VS Battles Wiki, the way I understand it, is to standardize power scaling and versus matches by creating a consistent framework in which any fictional characters can be scaled, which allows for objective answers for who beats who questions. However, the Wiki also has many listed profiles for weapons, which for the most part are insentient objects and therefore cannot do anything unless somebody is wielding them. Do these profiles have a purpose in the Wiki's versus match forums, and if so, how do they work? Can there be a versus thread where one or both sides use weapon profiles instead of character profiles, and if that's the case, how do they determine who wins? Or are weapons only usable as part of a match when a character is wielding them? Do they have the same role in versus threads as verse-specific abilities?

I have no idea, but i'm guessing that you would give the 2 or more weapons you choose to 2 random person that knows how to use it? Their stats would be equalized, they wouldn't know anything about eachothers weapons, just 2 random person that are able to use the weapon. Otherwise i don't think you could put 2 weapons in a room and wait them to attack eachother.

Honestly, I've always semi questioned how useful it is to have weapon pages, but in my experience they're mainly used for indexing spesific pieces of gear that may have noteable abilities that are exclusively part of the weapon itself, rather than that of the character who weilds it.

Cobsidering most profiles still list the abilities of gear for a character though, this can admittedly be kinda redundant? The best uses, in my opinion, are for weapons who may have had multiple canonical weilders though.

But yeah, their use in theads tends to be kinda limited...they exist mostly for indexing, it seems.
