If I read the same pages as you do,

1. The Anti Kuregumo Elite Squad members were fiercely attacking Sojo while he just used a strong Mei.
2. An immobilisation guy (the half mask guy) used Jobaku to immobilise Sojo
3. Ikuto charged the full mask guy and used him as an electromagnetic railgun cannonball to attack Sojo.
4. A big arm wall crawler guy (the sixth guy mentioned by Chihiro) retrieved Kuregumo.
5. Sojo used Mei while Mei was held by the big arm wall crawler guy and the arm of that guy holding the sword was hurt and paralysed.
6. Sojo took the Kuregumo back by his mouth, then proceeded to blitz the remaining squad members.
Kazane (the light hair short guy protecting the tall Gansui lady) used Kaichi but failed to stop Sojo.
7. Sojo landed conveniently near his recent base (where the kidnapped Char was imprisoned and researched at) and saw Chihiro looking tired and injured without knowing Char just healed him.

We did read the same chapter, you're just misunderstanding what exactly happened in part of it so I'll explain it.

1 through 4 are mostly correct however with numbers 1 and 3 Sojo doesn't really get to use mei for anything that first time and what happened when he was about to was that he surpassed the 10 second cooldown of Mei (not shocking considering the level of evolution him and Chihiro have just shown back to back) and in reaction the masked guy and Ikuto create an improvised railgun using Sojo's lightning not allowing him to use it.

As you said for 4, the arm guy retrieved the sword from Sojo after he was hit by their railgun combo. For 5 however here's where ya get a little muddled again, When Sojo uses mei after they retrieved the sword if you look closely there's a path the lightning is following above where they are and the guy's arm the one who was holding Cloud Gouger had been cut off. No one was paralyzed in using mei that time Sojo completely blitzed everyone there and tore them to shreds. Sojo then exclaims afterwards that his affinity with Cloud Gouger increased thus resulting in the shortening of the interval between usage and that when he activated mei instead of discharging he focused on being cloaked in by it instead, that's how he blitzed those guys and made them seem like statues.

If you caught on by now with the imagery of the panels when he's saying it and just going by what we know about Enten its actually right in our faces, Sojo cloaking himself in mei and getting stronger and faster is the exact equivalent of Chihiro's Nishki technique where he cloaks himself thus accomplishing the same thing.

With that in mind moving onto 7. Sojo doesn't land conveniently at his base, when Chihiro looks up at the moon he seemingly seeing the gansui rocks crashing down to the surface from kilometers in the air off in the distance, we also know that in the fight with Sojo they were taking him to the sea 2 kilometers away from the city and we see they in fact were indeed at the sea when we see the aftermath so from kilometers in the air and away above the sea, sojo while cloaked with Mei simply travelled that distance in an insant appearing in front of Chihiro.

In fact when Chihiro is handing off Char to Mr. Shiba, Sojo is already there hence Chihiro activating Enten and getting ready to fight him looking directly ahead to where we see he is along with them narrating "a few seconds earlier" and cutting to the fight, so in a few seconds Sojo cuts all those guys down at sea and cloaks himself in mei getting there instantly.

Which they get another statement that Chihiro and Sojo's fight is going to only last 12 seconds with it lasting only a moment


TDLR. Sojo increased his affinity with Cloud Gouger reducing his activation time of mei to less than 10 seconds and learns to cloak himself in mei essentially doing the exact same thing Chihiro does with Nishki, getting stronger and faster thus he one shots the kumanabi members and travels at least 2km from the sea instsntly appesring before Chihiro to fight

As the 2nd duel between Chihiro Rokuhira vs Genichi Sojo would come in Ch 017 which would officially arrive on 21 January 2024 23:00 SGT.

First arc has finished.
Chihiro Rokuhira vs Genichi Sojo is considered the second arc.
Which means we have at least two key phases - one for the "starting" arc (Ch 001 - Ch 007) and one for the Chihiro Rokuhira vs Genichi Sojo arc (Ch 008 - now).

However, things may get tricky on how to classify high tier sorcerers and low tier sorcerers (which are still stronger than normal thugs). Oh a thug is stronger than Hinao who is stronger than Char who can tank a wall+(?) explosion.
I mean:
  • a lot of villain side sorcerers. Madoka NORISAKU should scale from first arc Chihiro in LS, AP, speed and durability (possibly - at most - second arc Chihiro - considering how fierce the fight at Ch 004 was).
  • Gansui lady has two direct feats and the other squad members scale from her in LS, AP, speed and durability (except for range)
  • All six elite squad members and Azami and Shiba scale from Sojo.

All of this should be under one key tbh, Chihiro only gets some kinda of development in chapters 14~16 when his innate understanding is developed further and even then it doesn't or hasn't amounted to a stat increase and from this especially since like its just one steady stream of events so splitting these up on the profile is really a bad move.

Any scans of Char tanking an explosion? and regular thugs should certainly not scale to something like this at all legitimately they're just normal people.

Also for low tier sorcerers as far as Daruma goes the guy would be like 9-A via his own feats. Literally every other low tier sorcerers is featless as they only encounter Chihiro when he's weakened or tired and still end up one shot. Daruma / Madoka specifcally also never damaged Chihiro like the man is legit unscathed at the end and the fight was very casual for him since its literally stated like twice he held back through that encounter power and speedwise with Daruma calling him fast even then. Therefore yeah he should only scale to the feats Chihiro did while holding back in their fight that's actually applicable for him to scale to those his own 9-A feat and Chihiro's hypersonic feat since he dis track Chihiro's movement with that feat even if Chihiro was ultra casual

No one should scale to the Gansui lady without better reasoning since that's vis her power. The next best thing is calculating how high they jump for LS.

That's how Chihiro and Sojo got Class 5 after all

Yeah, it was really weird how they kinda just gave us 16 on Friday, really messed with my schedule now I don't know when 17 is coming out or when leaks will drop.

Her Class M lifting strength is based on her use of her powers.
Powers from sorcerers in Kagurabachi verse come from genryoku, which all sorcerers can make various use of to various degrees.
And the Anti-Kuregumo Elite Squad members are made up of top sorcerers within Kamunabi. Which is led by Azami. While Azami and Shiba are considered by Genichi Sojo to be superior in genryoku.
It does not make sense if the members are too far off from each other in physiques and power stats.
Also, would you put that lady aside when you want to deploy sufficient manpower to beat Sojo and take Kuregumo back when the others are way weaker than that lady? (Okay others do not have geo telekinesis so the lady is still secured a special role)
You may split them into Class 5 physically and Class M with powers tho.

How much LS is squeezing a leg to fragmentation with one hand? This is performed by a low tier sorcerer/thug back in Ch 006. Also another thug can tear off a leg from Char and capture her and beat Hinao. While Char needs protection from Hinao and Char herself survived a wall level explosion (she recovered quickly thanks to her regeneration but still).



And... back to talking about Ch 016, Sojo did use lightning without touching a sword (the sword did serve as a lightning rod), then the sword fell and Sojo caught it with his mouth, then proceeded to one shot two more elite squad members.
THEN Sojo and the squad members and the platforms fell near a coast where a big sound was made that was heard by Chihiro while just walking out of Sojo's secret lab and then asked Shiba to take away Char as he felt he was about to face Sojo once again.

Btw as far as chapter 17 goes we got some multiplier statements so we depending on if we go with Jasons version of the gansui Bachi god tiers atm would range from 8-B up to 8-B+ and if we go with mine they range from 8-B+ to 8-A


Speed would still be between MHS and MHS+


I'm not going to rush anything though and I think we should wait to see what 18 has to offer just so we can see the aftermath of it all, that's all I'll say


We should also get the GPE of all those platforms the gansui lady made as they were all pretty huge
