Hello.

Our content moderators, further promoted content moderators, and myself, have decided that the general discussion template that is used near the bottom of the verse pages in our wiki will be changed.

Now, instead of putting the entire thread URL into the template, you simply put in the sequence of numbers at the end, almost exactly like the formatting we prefer for adding versus matches to wiki profile pages.

As IdiosyncraticLawyer will soon apply this change using automated editing, no further work is needed, but all future uses of this template should follow this format.

For example, for our general discussion thread for One Piece, the template's format would be {{GeneralDiscussion|115795}}.

I updated the first post of this thread with an example. 🙏

Thanks a massive lot for helping out so much. 🙏❤️

Is this going to be automatically added when editing like how before this change, adding a link to a string of text would change it to use templates like "vsforum"?

I do not quite understand what you mean here. My apologies. 🙏

Basically this feature of the editor automatically changing an external link as shown below:

It seems to require being updated to fit the new formatting desired as noted in the OP of this thread, however.

@IdiosyncraticLawyer

What do you think about this? 🙏

So you're saying that this can't be fixed besides manually typing it out, basically?

You can't use the template using the button in the first place, so I don't see a way we'll ever have anything to fix.

Well, currently the links to the forum automatically use the template I've shown in one of my previous posts (when using the link feature), that wasn't manually edited in.

You don't use that mechanic in the first place when inserting a template.

Well, that's how currently the editor works, you may want to check that out in that case.

??? I have no idea what you're talking about. If you want to insert a link in the source editor, you highlight the text you want to link and click the link key on the toolbar or use Ctrl/Cmd+K. If you want to insert a template, you don't highlight anything and instead click the "Template" option from the "Insert" dropdown menu on the toolbar, which opens up a screen where you look up the template you want and then set its parameters.

Thank you for helping out, IdiosyncraticLawyer. 🙏❤️
