The Prince of All Saiyans Fights a Robot! ...Again.

Since Mega Man (verse) got some major stat upgrades from the X to ZX eras, and I'm hard-pressed for ideas when it comes to versus threads involving Mega Man X characters, I figured I'd kick it back old school and revisit a matchup that Zero previously won when he was a wee little solar system level robot. I'm not the original creator of that thread, but I was very much inspired by that when making this.

I'll be honest, this thread was really hard to make. If anyone has any ideas on how to make it better, I'll consider implementing them to make the thread more fair.

Both start in base, are in-character, and their speed is equalized at the start of the fight (mainly to prevent Vegeta from speed-blitzing at the start, but still allowing him and Zero to AD and transform throughout the fight. But if this becomes an issue I can un-equalize speed. Like I said, I admittedly struggled to find ways to make this thread as even as I could).

The fight takes place in everyone's most-wanted Tekken stage.

Bulma had Vegeta get a job and Vegeta messed up X's waffles. Zero didn't like that, so now they must fight to the death in the Waffle House parking lot. Other than that though they're in-character for the purposes of the fight and this is a somewhat serious discussion thread despite the goofy premise (that I sincerely hope you get a kick out of).

Discuss! Again, if anyone has suggestions on how to improve the thread, I'll be more than happy to hear suggestions!

don't think there's anything Vegeta can do, being primarily a physical fighter and all

he's got a scaling chain above 6 universes, while Zero has a scaling chain above 27

so, Zero tanks literally everything Vegeta can dish out, then proceeds to one-shot at his leisure

Would it be a good idea to un-equalize speed, then (Vegeta would be at least sextillions faster in base while Zero is quintillions)? Or is a similar result still bound to happen?

if ya did, all that would result from it would just be Vegeta becoming an untaggable gnat for Zero

Vegeta still wouldn't be able to physically harm him, but Zero wouldn't be able to hit him (unless he has a workaround for that too, which he probably does)

Zero does have a (edit: layered) time stop. I'm not certain if Vegeta resists it or not.

Should I just equalize speed and AP? Maybe choose a different version of either character?

you can equalize AP, but the thread would need to be migrated over to Fun & Games

if you're tryna have a legitimate match, your best bet would just be to switch characters

I see. Man, finding decent matchups for MMX characters is hard. Would it be acceptable to edit the thread to change characters altogether (likely swapping Vegeta for someone else), even if it's a different series? Or is that a no-go?

I might wait just a little bit longer in case anyone else has any input on this matchup, but dang.

This is fine. though in my experince somtimes can get less traction if the thread is old but since this is quite new should be fine.

You'd need characters that either rely on dura-circumventing hax, or can withstand a few hits from Zero to then go for their hax.

2-C is one of the most unfun tiers ever now that every universe difference is an insurmountable one-shot gap.

I almost put Shadow in here but tbh there's already a few other Sonic VS MMX threads. I'd ideally want to shake things up.
