It is time again. Share your favorite music, I will rate it on a very subjective scale that is fully up to me. So no hard feelings.

3 submissions every 12 hours, no more than that cause I don't want people spamming.

Only send singular melodies, not entire albums, unless you have an album with a specific melody in which case use timestamps.

I will only listen to stuff that's below 5-6 minutes in length. If the song is longer i'll only listen to like 2 minutes of it. I will listen enough to understand the melody and see it for what it is.

My rating criteria:
1. How pleasant it is to the ear (4 points)
2. How memorable it is (3 points)
3. How balanced it is (music complimenting vocals or musical instruments just generally balancing each other out) (2 points)
4. Personal opinion (1 point)

Ranks are point-based.

10 - Masterpiece
9 - Excellent
8 - Really good
7 - Good
6 - Ok
5 - Mid
4 - Kinda bad
3 - Real bad
2 - Straight ass
1 - Never giving you the aux cord
0 - Instant death

First comment!

I would like to share the OP song of an anime called "Ajin". It is a quite good anime, and I am a fan of it.

It's definitely pleasant to the ear but nothing too phenomenal - i'd say a 4 would still suffice since this is more about whether its nice listening to it or not.
Can't say it is memorable, I definitely will forget it in like a day or two. Lyrics carry the memorability hard but it is still a 1.
Balanced well, no issues, no anything out of the ordinary. 2.
I...am neutral to it. 0.5

Overall - 7.5 - Quite good.

Aight so

1) a 4 pointer, solid, sounds amazing honestly
2) I think it is quite memorable, I liked it and I think it has enough uniqueness to it that I ain't forgetting it any time soon - 3 points
3) I think the lyrics were just slightly unbalanced in the sense that they at times were a bit too silent to be heard correctly. Not a fan of that but still I'd go 1.5 points due to just how good the rest was
4) I liked the song a lot, 1 point given

Overall: 9.5 - Nearly Perfect

1) 4 points, I enjoyed listening to it
2) 1.5 for memorability, honestly metal songs don't always hit the right note for me, I just ain't gonna remember it. You remember things with unique meoldies but this one just doesn't feel unique enough. It has a good song though so the lyrics help.
3) Balanced well, no problem here, 2 points
4) I liked it, no problems here either, 1 point

Overall: 8.5 - Amazing

Might as well throw a hat of mine into the race

What? Lupin ain't the only thing I know.

Honestly, I think this might just be a 10. I think it just genuienly masterful. At most maybe the music itself is slightly weaker than it could've been but even then the lyrics pick it up to the right extent. So in short it at most would lose points in the memorability of the music itself but i don't really wanna be greedy with it so a 10 is a 10 - Masterpiece.

Uh...Texas Red prequel??

Anyways

1) I can't say I felt that much enjoyment. I can't say I wasn't entertained but at the same time it wouldn't be something I'd be willing to listen to on repeat or again. I like the western style so overall it was okay to the ear. 2.5 points
2) 3 points for memorability - I am NOT forgetting this for quite a while lmao
3) I think it was wee bit too hasty but ehhh I ain't gonna nitpick, 2, balanced, well made
4) Honestly I am neutral on it, 0.5

Overall: 8 - Really Good

Ya either like it, or ya don't like it 🤷‍♂️

1) 1.5. I can appreciate scream rapping but this felt painful honestly. I get that it is somewhat like a vent rap but that don't mean anything since this ranking is based on my personal feelings. Carried by music but even that is not that great.
2) 2, rap is kinda generic for me here but the presentation, even if it is through screaming, is memorable. I'll forget in like a week but it is memorable enough
3) 1.5, the scream-rap mixes well with the bass and music but also I can't hear the lyrics often so not that great
4) Didn't like it as you can imagine, 0

Overall: 5 - Mid

Fairs. This sub-genre of music ain't for everyone.

I'm not a fan of scream rapping, but I think Scarlxrd is one of the few people who do it well imo.

This would be worth looking into as well

Not sure what is gonna be done with these threads....

1) It was nice, didn't bother me for the most part, 4 points
2) It's not really memorable to me at all. The whole arabic theme makes it stand out a bit more but otherwise it has nothing that makes me really remember it - 1 point
3) It was balanced enough, a solid 2
4) I am neutral on it, 0.5

Overall: 7.5 - Quite Good

1) Sounds quite nice - 4 points
2) Honestly quite generic sounding to me, I think I'd forget this easily, lyrics bring it up a bit but is a 1 from me
3) I think it is balanced well enough, no major issues here or anything, 2 points
4) I didn't really like it, 0 points

Overall: 7 - Good

New Rule: Mahek is going to be fully ignored for the duration of this thread
Oi. 😑
I have playlists and compilations if anyone wants to take a look welp.

(I should have included Rammstein and Megaherz)

So this is your third thread of this type... Wondering if we could have just condensed all these into one thread but yeah it'd be hard maintaining a thread for 3 years straight

Also Garrixian was in on it too

Questions:
Do we (we as in each and every person here) get to give/send multiple submissions over the course of this thread? (Since we might as well account for time passed and changes in taste of music or discovery of new songs.)
Also wondering if there's any language restrictions like English-only or if anything goes? (Cause I can think of music from various regional and cultural sources.)

...Dawg just copy+paste a link of the song and Arceus will rate it

I've not been listening to much of my favorite music. Instead, we have this.

Curious thread. I'll test the waters with a track from one of the best albums of the 90s, courtesy of my #1 favorite band to begin in that decade. Excellent music video, too; reminds me a bit of the James Bond Casino Royale opening... which lead vocalist Ken Andrews also did the sound production on, as well as for some work by everyone from Nine Inch Nails to Tenacious D.

1) Quite pleasant, 4 points
2) I'll remember it for a bit. I don't think it is grand enough to be fully memorable so i'll give it 1.5 points
3) It is balanced well, the voice is clear, the music nice - 2 points
4) I liked it, 1 point

Overall: 8.5 points - Amazing

1) It is a nice song, sounds good, 4 points
2) I can't say it is fully memorable. The music is unique but it isn't gonna stay in my head for that much and the visuals hard carry it honestly when it comes to memorability. 2 points tho.
3) It is perfeclty balanced, like all things should be, 2 points
4) I am neutral on it, 0.5 points

Overall: 8.5 - Amazing

1) Honestly I gotta take a point off. The singing had that abrupt end that didn't fully match with the music. it's probably intentional to make a more chaotic song but honestly it still doesn't sound that great to me. 3 points.
2) I don't think i'll remember it much honestly, 1 point is all I can get cause it has some unique letimotiffs
3) Some lyrics are overpowered by the music which isn't good balance, 1.5 points
4) I didn't particularly like it honestly, 0 points

Overall: 5.5 - High-Mid

1) Sounds nice and chill but out of spite for that first guitar riff that broke my ears i'll give it 3.5 points
2) Not really memorable to me. Like I would not notice it honestly and I am probably gonna forget it real fast. 1 point
3) I think the lyrics are a bit more silent than the music itself at times making them harder to figure out. 1.5 points
4) I am neutral on it honestly, 0.5 points

Overall: 6.5 - Decent

Ah, I see, preference for cleanness over texture, at least against abrasion like the cleverly-themed (and yes, awesome) radio-chime intro & emotional guitar distortions. Noted. I'm guessing it was that taste and not a bad audio setup you have to make the mixing sound somehow bad to you. But it can be fun to sketch a mental image deducing from takes like these. Out of curiosity, I'll list a more recent track by the same group to see how that compares for you, since they went from perfecting grunge to blazing new paths in space rock upon return (hence more "novelty" in addition to ethereal cleanness over youthful rawness in the sound design).

@Deceived3596 You especially should check out Failure, too, as Sleep Token have cited them as an influence (although they're still their own thing in comparison).

That one's peculiar.

1) It sounded quite nice, great music, great singing and rapping, honestly solid - 4 points
2) I think this is memorable. Quite memorable - 2 points
3) Balance issues stemp from the mumble rapping parts. I discriminate against rap that makes it hard to hear the words. 1 point here.
4) I liked it actually, quite a peculiar lil thing. 1 point.

Overall: 9 - Excellent

1) it sounds quite nice. 4 points, no problem here.
2) Definitely not memorable to me. It feels quite generic. Like it's something that would pass me by on a car radio. 0.5 points honestly.
3) It's well balanced, no problem here either - 2 points.
4) I am neutral on it - 0.5 points

Overall: 7 - Good.

one, you can't ping members unless you're staff and two, I can't see the video for some reason.

Gotcha, odd that pings are even an available function for those without staff roles if they don't work. Dunno why that link isn't working, either, but the song title is "Snow Angel" from the album The Heart is a Monster. EDIT: If this one works but the earlier one doesn't, it might be the website disliking links to videos in playlists but being fine with standalone links.

Replying (since pings don't work) to say you might like the band Failure since Sleep Token cite them as an inspiration (although they're both their own thing).
