On VSBW, Infinite Speed has two main requirements:

  1. Cover a finite distance in zero time.
  2. Cover an infinite distance in finite time.

The distinction is crucial:

- The second requirement (infinite distance in finite time) automatically includes all finite distances, meaning a character capable of this can handle both finite and infinite distances.
- The first requirement (finite distance in zero time) remains limited to the finite case, even if the movement is instantaneous. There’s no guarantee such a character could cover an infinite distance.

In practice, while time remains an important criterion to differentiate the two, spatial range is the key factor in evaluating the overall power of Infinite Speed.

Conclusion:
In summary, although both requirements have their specifics, covering an infinite distance in finite time is logically more complete, as it automatically includes all finite distances, while covering a finite distance in zero time remains limited to the finite case. Understanding this distinction is essential for accurately evaluating Infinite Speed capabilities.

This doesn't seem to be a question. I'll move it to a CRT.

EDIT: Now moved it to staff discussion.
