Putting this CRT out quick since @FinePoint asked me to get a thread up when it was approved.

Anyways, this calc has been accepted which places the energy of the cold fusion diode between 5-A and High 5-A. The goal of this CRT is to choose which end should applied and who it applies to.

Which Value?
For my calc, I assumed two different value ends. The low-end was based on the smallest possible explosion radius based on House's statement. The high-end utilized an estimate based on the time when Fallout season two takes place. While it does involve some estimation, due to the statement coming from House who is quite literal and exact with his predictive analysis, I'm willing to consider it the most fitting value.

After finishing the calc, I've also considered adding a middle-end based on the second closest planet to the earth on average, but I think the high-end is reliable enough and have thus refrained from it for now.

Who does it apply to?
The most important aspect of applying this feat is deciding who actually gets access to this for their profile. Unfortunately, most of the people I have decided on to have access to the diode do not have profiles yet. However, I still think this is important to determine for application of the feat going forward. I know FinePoint mentioned he was working on a House CRT at some point, and he certainly would have access to it for a key. Anyways, these are the groups I have decided on.
  • The Enclave (The Enclave possessed cold fusion up until the beginning of season one when it was stolen by Wilzig. Unfortunately, it's hard to tell how long they actually possessed it in the Wasteland. The ending of season twosuggests that they had been holding onto it since Cooper gave it to the President back in 2077, however, this isn't confirmed. It notably is not mentioned at all during the events of Fallout 2 and 3, and thus may be exclusive to the seemingly Colorado branch of the Enclave)
  • The NCR (At the end of season one, Moldaver, leading a battalion of the NCR, takes cold fusion and utilizes it to repower the wasteland of Shady Sands. Granted, they do not possess it for long, but they do technically still own it and use it for a time. They may even get it back after the end of season two, but we'll have to wait for season three to figure that out)
  • The BoS California Branch (After the battle at the observatory with Moldaver's group, the Brotherhood of Steel gains possession of the cold fusion diode and holds onto it until around half-way through season two when Maximus rebels. Notably, this would be a different key/group than the original Brotherhood encountered in the original Fallout and the splintered group in New Vegas)
  • Robert House (At the end of season two, the Ghoul gives Robert House cold fusion to power himself and New Vegas once again. However, it is unclear whether or not he left House with cold fusion at the end of season two. He did mention that he would leave House's batteries on, but when Lucy and Maximus see House's terminal he is "offline", only flickering on the screen for a moment)
Beyond the various factions in Fallout, there are a few characters which could be argued to have the diode as optional equipment. However, there is only one character I believe is deserving to possess it as such: the Ghoul. Cooper is the only character to not only consider destroying cold fusion as an option for bargaining, but is also the only one along with House to know the true nature of its energy without utilizing it. Other characters who possess it as some point such as Lucy and Maximus on the other hand don't even think of destroying it, and are equally unaware of its true power. Thus, I think they shouldn't be given it as equipment for the time being until we learn the fate of cold fusion in season three.

With that all said, let me know if I missed anything. This was kind of a spur-of-the-moment CRT on my part since I enjoyed the show a lot, but I'm not a wholly a Fallout expert.

Agree: @Qawsedf234

but no seriously this should be fine but I'll wait for supporters to hash out which end works best since its a narrative thing for when stuff takes place at that determines this and idk any of that

I'm fine with the High End, but as a power source, no one scales to its actual value since that's the Diode dumping all of its energy at once. Even Cooper having it as optional equipment doesn't work imo, since all the times he had it the dude immediately gave it away.

Though I guess the Zeta's may have a Tier 5 justification finally.

Yeah, it would just be a power source for most factions. Only reason I gave it to Cooper as equipment was because he knows he can blow it up. So if you put him in a matchup with a character he can't beat, he could possibly pull a Predator and just nuke himself.

I disagree, it's not an expenditure of energy anyone could or would be able to use conveniently.

It's primarily for civilizations and would only be applied for Kardishev style energy output at Qaw said. Only House and the Ghoul know it could be used as a weapon, which is why the Ghoul is the only character I gave it too as optional equipment.

Like I said, I don't think this qualifies as optional equipment. Cooper has never possessed the Cold Fusion diode for any extended length of time. Maximus has better justifications for it than Cooper does in terms of length.

House does the "offline" thing in-game as well several times if you refuse to cooperate with him directly or kill all his securitrons so it's likely he's just laying low considering they're 2 strangers to him and he (seemingly) has no Securitrons on standby.

Considering he needed the Diode to even come online/alive, he should still have it since he was on Cooper's pipboy for most of the episode + flashed on screen briefly.
