Creation of page: Warhammer 40k Commander Farsight

Updated the powers section, moved longevity to it's proper place and swapped type 8 immortality for age manipulation... Still confused why the tabber bullets aren't working
edit: figured it out, just need to put an extra line in between the new tabber segments and the start of the information

Looking at the note on the large size justification with some trepidation, GW isn't great about putting out the exact details of things like this, and that's on a good day for the imperium... I have a size chart, but that doesn't actually include any numbers or the actual battlesuit farsight uses - assuming it's even up to date
T'au are said to be on average diminutive, average between casts being about 4', if we assume that of the pictured t'au, and that the supernova is on par with a coldstar or enforcer battlesuit, then that puts it's height at a little over 8', with all that bulk I think that would qualify as type 0 large size?

may I inquire why there is a request to edit in source mode specifically?
It makes things much cleaner.

I have the model and a tape measure if that can count as evidence, assuming I can compare him to others of a more human size
Hrmmmm... Talk to a CGM (Calculation Group Member) about it. Or @Crabwhale

Reading notes about the talisman - it was a relic item for a few editions that's description sees it protecting the wielder from "warp-spawned creatues and psychic powers". It's not a thing in the current edition but I felt the need to include it because of it's pivotal roll in the book as - the thing that closes the daemon portal, as well as the fact that I'm pretty sure it's included in the design of farsight's new armor - on his right gauntlet.
I'm uncertain exactly if the talismans themselves hold the power or the symbol they hold, because farsight carved that symbol onto the chest of a deamon and that ended up banishing it(?). It's really unclear what the extent of it's power is besides effectively smacking the warp with a rolled up newspaper
I can try to get scans from the farsight book and or maybe some old t'au codexes if you think that'd qualify

Also realizing I have the book apparently featuring the fight between farsight and Cato Sicarious, I'll provide more details when I finish it

First encounter: Farsight in a Custom Crisis suit equipped with a Fusion blade (a melta equivalent fashioned as a constant blade rather than a sudden burst of energy) and plasma rifle + drones vs Cato Sicarious + 8 Space Marines (one of which was a Sargent)
Final results: Farsight's suit's arm removed - 4 space marines dead

ok I've definitely got a feat for supernatural willpower: he resisted the influence of Khorne during the events of the Arks of Omen: Farsight book
Gonna be picking that one up paperback soon, so I'll be able to make scans of it

Ok finally finished that book... I'm not gonna sugar coat it Farsight got his ass handed to him by Cato for the portion of time that they actually dueled.
He still did some "mad aura farming" as the kids say before and after the fight but that was absolutely a loss in the books.
[pardon my spelling I am transcribing this from a digital copy without access to subtitles]
"Your name bladesman?"
"Sargent Cato Sicarius of Talisar, Ultramarine's 8th company."
"I am called Shas'O Vior'la Shova Kais Mont'yr, Commander of the second sphere."
"Meaningless noise to me alien, I will take your head for the Imperium, and for those of my brothers that you have killed."
"Then you may call me death"
Blows exchanged:
Cato - Kick to sensor head, Struck shield with sword and plasma bolt, sword slash to torso and thigh,
Farsight - One Kick, (missed fusion blaster, and two missed plasma bolts)
Cato - Cut off plasma rifle barrel, kicked "plexus hatch"
Farsight - Fusion blaster (melta) shot that cut Cato's sword short enough that it couldn't impale Farsight after
Cato- stabbed it into farsight's control cocoon (that melta shot was also technically a miss as it was aimed to take Cato's head)
This is when the duel ends as some Bravestorm and Brightsword (Two of his companions) jump in and fight all of the spectating space marines.
Then the T'au trigger an EMP which shut down the space marine's armor, and the kroot showed up to hold them at knifepoint while Farsight "negociated" the space marines into leaving as they were ordered to do deal with a "biofleet" that was heading towards ultramar (First introduction of tyranids I think), leveraging his knowlege of the apothicarians and their collection of gene seed.

I thought I saw something about needing discussed approval in the forums for wins/losses
Also what does Calgar have to do with this, just an old page?

Checking they appear to be listed as 8-C each (though Calgar is labeled as "at least") and I'm not sure we need to change Cato's power level given this event is (as far as I can tell) the first appearance of Farsight, before he even had the dawn blade. He's gone through a lot since then and I'm honestly curious how a rematch would pan out given what both of them have been through

Both profiles are also really outdated. Like, they're from back when 40K on this wiki was hearsay and little else.

I'll think about updating them once I'm sure I'm done with Farsight's
real quick can I get a vibe check on bumping farsight's intelligence to Genius+? I am not certain what the criteria for such a change would be but I think between completely compiling your enemies' combat doctrine from two major conflicts, defeating an inter dimensional incursion with a never before seen foe the first time they've clashed, and developing a brand new fighting style for melee combat with a battlesuit designed to shoot the hell out of things, he might make a decent contender

I'd say he can just be "Genius", there is no Genius+ tier.

ahh ok, though it worked similar to the tier system. He's smart in multiple fields but definitely not Extraordinary Genius tier, that'd be O'Vesa

reading up on him they seem to have quite similar skill sets... I'd expect they could come to a potentially peaceful resolution, though if it's good ol' Phill writing then Thrawn would probably be able to manipulate Farsight into some sort of mental trap

Alright coming back to this, I've been re listening to the four audio books I have access too so I can at least give chapter numbers, and the fifth book should be physically in the mail soon. Found some good scenes to back up some of my less supported claims but I would like a clear notice of which parts need to be scanned. I'll to my best to provide after

Given I've yet to receive a response on my request for calculation help on battlesuit size, I'll simply use a reference from a Ciaphas Cain book, where they're described as dreadnought equivalents twice the size of a space marine

OOOK the book finally came in the mail... it's a lot smaller than I originally hoped but it does include a lot of information that I can scan to support my claims, namely;
Farsight is equipped with the talisman of Arthas Moloch, and subsequently explains that it provides some protection from "mind science" as the T'au call it
While not directly stated - it appears Khorn is no longer interested in Farsight after the events of the Arks of Omen, meaning he was able to resist the worst effects of Khorn's influence, and not fall to chaos (though that influence did affect many t'au besides him when they were on the planet, during the final battle retreat required a strong act of will to do rather than charging to meet the enemy)
I can now add a small list of victories Farsight has achieved, consisting mostly of Ork warlords, a chaos cultist leader and one Slaaneshi champion
