This is an explanation of Abyssal Energy. I feel like the version on VSBW is a bit underdeveloped, so I took heavy inspiration from the Honkai Energy page in terms of formatting when making this.
The Abyss, also known as the Void Realm, is a dark, destructive force that originates from the Sea of Stars.
It was introduced into Teyvat by Nibelung during the War of Funerary Flame.
The Abyss has a great adaptive capability and commonly manifests in the form of Abyssal monsters or as corruptive energy.
According to Barbeloth, the true essence of the Abyss lies in the hatred carried by all the alternate possibilities of fate that never came to pass; this resentment drives the Abyss to seek the destruction of all existence. Consequently, it is obsessed with entering Teyvat at any cost.
The power of the Abyss also exists on other worlds within the Sea of Stars and is destroying the universe.

Empowerment
Durin:
One of the effects of the Abyss is that it can increase the power of living things.
My current form serves as ample proof of this phenomenon.
Though I can't fully control its power, my unique constitution seems to give me the potential to use the Abyss in service of good.
Controlling it is hard and requires immense concentration; otherwise, any misstep I take could hurt those I hold dear.
To avoid this, I must continue to learn and practice. I believe this Vision serves as recognition of my efforts.
Abyssal Energy can dramatically enhance the power of living beings, though the effects vary based on the Beings constitution and compatibility.
"The effects of the Abyss vary. For some, coming into contact with it is a debuff that makes them weaker, kills them, or transmutates them; elemental beings, in particular, are very susceptible to this.
However, for others—like Skirk or the Sinners—it can actually make them stronger."
Some beings possess a natural affinity for Abyssal Energy. Skirk's people could "coexist with the Abyss somewhat."
It's also possible to absorb Abyssal Energy, something shown by Skirk, the Sinners, and other Abyssal beings, to strengthen both the physique and abilities in the process.
The Twins can also absorb it, along with some other beings.
Abyssal Energy also empowers the creations of Rhinedottir, with beings like Durin, Elynas, and Bakunawa possessing power derived from Abyssal sources.
Bakunawa's immortality came from a "transcendental form of Abyssal power that is beyond even the Abyss Order's understanding," granting it functional immortality and infinite growth potential.
\---
Impairment
Abyssal Energy has a corrupting effect on everything it contacts, though it varies.
The Tenebrous Papilla's archive description states:
"These twisted monstrosities are capable of infiltrating deep down into the bowels of the earth, extracting memories to imitate and manipulate.
Through this process of distorting the past's memories into more abstruse and sordid forms, they gradually draw closer to Irminsul's core, threatening to undermine its very existence."
Even slight exposure to the Abyss can corrupt someone's entire being or outright kill them.
The Abyss can corrupt, corrode, influence, and transmute the body, mind, soul, memory, perception, and more.
It can cause allergies, confusion, vomiting, and other illnesses.
Those who come into contact with Abyssal corruption may have their true forms deteriorate and may transform into mindless monsters.
The Abyss is capable of corrupting abstract concepts such as space, time, and information, as well as information-based entities and possibly concepts themselves.
\---
The Nature of Abyssal Energy
Core Mechanisms
Abyssal Energy innately possesses the following abilities:
Information Manipulation (Type 2) — Abyssal beings corrupt "the many colors of light, leaving only pitch-black information in their stead."
They extract memories from Ley Lines to imitate and manipulate, distorting past memories into "more abstruse and sordid forms" to draw closer to Irminsul's core.
Possibly Causality Manipulation and Acausality
— "The true essence of the Abyss lies in the hatred carried by all the alternate possibilities of fate that never came to pass. It is the sum of all that is destined to happen and all that never will."
Formlessness; possible Nonexistent Physiology (Nature Type 2) —
The Lord of the Hidden Depths' true body exists only as "a formless mass of pure Abyssal energy," with its physical form being merely a projection.
The formless beast that soared through the starless void developed grotesque appendages only to adapt to Teyvat's laws.
Instant Death —
Rerir's Deathly Blast instantly kills the active combatant if the countermeasure (absorbing kuuvahki) fails.
The Tenebrous Papilla's Beseech the Dark similarly directly kills the active combatant if the Void Ward is not broken in time.
\---
Standard Effects
Abyssal Energy causes corruption to everything it comes into contact with and brings several negative effects through its mere exposure and nature
Corruption —
Abyssal Energy corrupts all it touches, transforming humans into ghouls, Wilderness Hunters, or other Abyssal entities.
Spirits that cannot rest—due to resentment, partings with loved ones, or unfulfilled desires—if corrupted by the Abyss, may transform into ghouls forever lost in the Wild Hunt.
The Serpent of All Evils was originally a man named Raimo who transformed after Rotwang's defeat, and the Ultimate Calamity was originally Morozov, reawakened as an Abyssal entity.
Biological Manipulation —
Prolonged Abyssal exposure causes physical
deterioration, transformation into monsters, and various biological effects.
Victims may transform into mindless monsters.
Mind Manipulation & Madness Manipulation (Types 1-3) — Abyssal Energy can drive people crazy, causing confusion, memory loss, insanity, and personality changes. Voices in the head are another symptom of Abyssal corruption.
Memory Manipulation —
Tenebrous Papillae extract memories from Ley Lines to imitate and manipulate, distorting past memories into "abstruse and sordid forms."
Skirk can erase someone's memory if they notice her, making them completely forget her existence.
Soul Manipulation —
Spirits that cannot rest—due to resentment, partings with loved ones, or unfulfilled desires—if corrupted by the Abyss, may transform into ghouls forever lost in the Wild Hunt.
Perception Manipulation — Abyssal corruption can impair vision and perception.
Corrosion Inducement —
Riftwolves erode "the boundaries of the world." Abyssal attacks inflict stacking damage over time. Each hit inflicts stacks of "Corrosion" or "Attrition."
Necromancy — The Abyss can reawaken the dead as Abyssal entities.
Space and Time — It can corrupt and warp space and time, including some laws and concepts of the world.
"A beast with monstrous blood that is capable of eroding the boundaries of the world.
The previous eras, when giant monstrous beasts descended, large swarms of these hounds would go before them to deliquesce the borders of the world and open the way."
Summoning — Abyssal creatures can summon Other or less abyssal beings .
Self-Sustenance — Abyssal beings do not need to eat, sleep, or breathe.
Immortality — Most Abyssal beings have some form of immortality or extreme regeneration. Bakunawa is capable of infinite growth and is functionally immortal.
Even after Durin was killed, his heart was still active, and he was going to eventually revive.
After Elynas was killed, her consciousness still lived, and she could be revived.

Abyssal Energy Manipulation
Low-Level Manipulation
· Mist Creation
· Forcefield Creation
· Energy Projection —
Wilderness Exiles can fire orbs of Abyssal energy, dealing damage. Tenebrous Mimiflora can fire homing Abyssal Spheres.
Rerir can fire Abyssal Arrows.
· Forms four large orbs of abyssal flame and sends them flying.
· Launches a large orb of abyssal flame.
Once it lands, it will briefly pull nearby things toward it, then explode.
· Engulfs the arena in a dark fog which greatly reduces visibility.
· Summons abyssal flames to rain down in random locations.
· Begins channeling immense abyssal energy. When charging completes, it releases a massive blast across the arena.
· Summons four abyssal portals that fire beams.
· Teleportation — Short-range.
· Corrosion — All Riftwolf attacks apply Corrosion.
· Void Ward — The power of the Abyss descends upon the world, displaying a rejection of all that is. Targets protected by Void Wards cannot be damaged while defended by them.
· Attraction — Spawns a vortex that pulls the player toward the center of the arena.
· Healing — Surtalogi can restore Skirk's limbs, such as a broken wrist.
Skirk: Of course, it's well within my abilities to connect this place directly to the Abyss

High-Level Manipulation
Memory Extraction & Abilities Mimicry
Gosoythoth extracts the "remnant will" of a primordial elemental dragon sovereign from Ley Lines, repurposing it to fabricate an image of Xiuhcoatl, the Pyro Dragon Sovereign.
"It is a form they only adopted to get closer to the tree-like world, that they might extract the necessary concepts from it, and analyze and imitate them."
The Iniquitous Baptist can wield up to three elements simultaneously (Cryo, Electro, Hydro, Pyro in combinations)
using Abyssal power. Tenebrous entities mimic the forms and attacks of various enemies, from Ruin Guards to Normal Bosses.
Spatial Erosion & Rift Creation —
The Golden Wolflord commands Riftwolves to "dissolve space itself and forge a rift through which it may enter."
Large swarms precede giant monstrous beasts to "deliquesce the borders of the world and open the way."
Spatial Cutting (Durability Negation) — Skirk's attacks cut through space, bypassing conventional durability entirely.
Advanced Void Ward Generation — The Lord of Eroded Primal Fire generates multiple Void Wards with varying durability for different attacks.
Danmaku & Homing Attacks
— The Wilderness Hunter's Abyssal Frenzy tears its chest open, causing a barrage of homing Abyssal projectiles to burst out. Tenebrous Mimiflora fire homing Abyssal Spheres.
Portal Creation — Skirk can create portals using Abyssal Energy.
Thought-Based Deconstruction — Skirk can deconstruct objects through thought alone.
Transmutation — Skirk can transform objects, such as compressing the All-Devouring Narwhal into an energy ball.
Density Manipulation — Skirk can manipulate the density of matter using Abyssal Energy.
Forcefield Creation — Skirk can create barriers using Abyssal Energy.
Memory Erasure (Passive) — Skirk possesses a passive ability to erase the memory of anyone who notices her, causing them to completely forget her existence.
Explosion Manipulation, Crystal Manipulation, Smoke Manipulation & Telekinesis —
Skirk covered the All-Devouring Narwhal with crystal shards, then lifted it up from the surface before unleashing an explosion with sparks of abyssal mist, before transforming the Narwhal.
Flight — Skirk can fly using Abyssal Energy.
The Seven-Shifting Serpent
—It was originally known as "Chaos Permeation," a minor spell developed by Khaenri'ah's Universitas Magistrorum, and it was made to mock Teyvat's wielders of elemental power.
Users of this spell could use Abyssal energy to evoke effects similar to the Elements.
The underlying principle was analogous to using the Abyss to permeate reality, creating specific forms of negative pressure to thereby call upon the flow of a corresponding Element's energy.
\---
Sinner-Level Manipulation
In his phantom form, Rerir exists as pure will without a physical body. He can adapt to external energies (like Kuuvahki energy) and absorb them to grow stronger.
Conceptual Manipulation (Type 2)
— Each Sinner embodies an Abyssal version of a Shade's domain. Rerir is "blasphemy against death," Surtalogi "blasphemes void," Vedrfolnir "blasphemes time," Hroptatyr is "blasphemy against reason," and Rhinedottir is "blasphemy against life."
Abstract Existence (Type 2) — The Sinners are no longer human; they are transcendent beings whose existence is tied to the Abyss.
Regeneration — Rerir and all Sinners can regenerate even if their bodies and forms are completely destroyed repeatedly.
His body was torn into countless pieces scattered across time and space, yet his life and will were not extinguished; every fragment calls to him for eventual return.
Immortality Negation (Conceptual) — Surtalogi and other Sinners can remove the curse of immortality cast by Ronova, the Shade of Death. Rerir, as blasphemy against death, likely has similar abilities.
Power Absorption — Surtalogi absorbs the energy of machines, gods, and warriors he defeats.
Spatial Manipulation (Conceptual) — Surtalogi is superior to Skirk, who can cut through space. As the reflection of the Shade of Void, his spatial manipulation should be comparable to Asmoday.
Death Manipulation (Conceptual) — Rerir wields Barnstokkr, a polearm with the power of "Death." As blasphemy against death, his death manipulation should be comparable to Ronova at full power.
Time Manipulation (Conceptual) — Vedrfolnir, as the reflection of Istaroth, possesses time manipulation capabilities.
Life Manipulation (Conceptual) — Rhinedottir wielded the sword Serpent Devourer, once named "Logseims," which glimmers with the power of "Life."
Reason Manipulation (Conceptual) — Hroptatyr wielded the claymore Ardent Storm, once named "Starkuthr," which glimmers with the power of "Reason."
Reactive Evolution & Adaptation — Rerir can adapt to kuuvahki energy and absorb it to grow stronger.
Formlessness & Shapeshifting — As a higher being, physical form is a triviality to him. He can appear as a beast, a human, or even a monster that defies description.
Surtalogi can take any form he desires. Rerir's phantom form is pure will without a physical body, and he can disguise himself as anyone.
Instant Death — Rerir's Deathly Blast instantly kills the active combatant if not countered.

True Abyss
The True Abyss possesses all the abilities of any Abyssal being, but to a greater degree.
Columbina, as the Trilune, can manipulate the laws of the entire planet of Teyvat. She has control over life, death, time, and space.
The Authority of the Three Moons is tied to the most fundamental rules of Teyvat. Before the Heavenly Principles arrived, the Three Moon Goddesses controlled the world's laws, such as life and death.
After obtaining the Trilunar Authority, Columbina can now manipulate those rules at will to suit her whims.
She can move freely between the moon and Teyvat, effortlessly transport herself and others, make flowers bloom more vibrantly, and cause fruits to grow fuller.
She loves how the world and her home look now, and changing them just because she could—altering their appearance and rules—would feel wrong to her.
She can also alter perceptions and actions by overturning the world's laws using the power of the Three Moons.
She can restore damage she has received by rewinding time.
Before the Heavenly Principles arrived, the world of Teyvat had "no boundaries" between life and death, and the Moon Sisters were the ones who governed it.
Columbina can create a pocket realm containing the starry skies and the Three Moons.
The Moon Sisters can manipulate the fate of all living beings by weaving the silver threads of destiny and spinning the Wheel of Fate, also known as Constellations.
After obtaining the Authority of the Three Moons, Columbina can manipulate these threads of fate.
The birth of a new moon could turn back the Wheel of Fate.
The stars of constellations are likened to strings by which the Heavenly Principles puppeteer the mortals of the Human Realm.
Anything that existed in the past, Columbina can recreate with her Trilune authority, within her limits. The moons can also manipulate gravity and entropy.
She can locate anyone in the world, find them, and bring them to any location within her power.
She also possesses many other extremely powerful abilities.
Within Teyvat, she has law manipulation that is essentially low- to mid-tier reality warping.
Considering that Dottore was able to create a bootleg version of the Moon's Reflection, she might be capable of creating an improved version, possibly with some of the effects of the real one, to trap someone.
She can freely place curses on people; for example, a curse that triggers if someone performs a certain action, such as moving.
If the target lacks resistance, she could simply curse them to die if they move.
Despite all these abilities, the Moon Sisters were stated to be nowhere near strong enough to confront the Heavenly Principles.
And in turn, the Abyss scales above the Moons, the Shades, and the Heavenly Principles—with the Heavenly Principles in particular being terrified of it:
"But the master of the heavens, consumed by fear for the rising tide of delusion and breakthroughs, sent down the divine nails to mend the land, laying waste to the mortal realm..."

Sinner Physiology
Immortality (Multiple Types) — Sinners can live indefinitely, as shown with their survival for five hundred years since the Cataclysm. They can survive having their bodies completely destroyed, regenerating from fragments scattered across time and space. They can also reconstruct themselves, as Rerir did from his heart fragment.
They should also have superior regeneration to Bakunawa.
As abstract existences tied to the Abyss, they may not be bound by conventional life and death or causality.
Abstract Existence (Type 2) — Sinners embody Abyssal versions of the Shades' domains.
Conceptual Manipulation (Type 2) — Due to their abstract nature, Sinners can manipulate the concepts they embody. Rerir manipulates death, Surtalogi manipulates void/space, Vedrfolnir manipulates time, Hroptatyr manipulates reason, and Rhinedottir manipulates life.
Formlessness & Shapeshifting — Physical form is optional for Sinners. Surtalogi can take any form he desires while traveling the stars. Rerir can exist as pure will without a physical body in his phantom form.
Regeneration — Sinners can regenerate from physical destruction, as their true existence is Abyssal rather than tied to any physical form.
Aura - Even lesser Abyssal beings passively radiate Abyssal Energy, causing corruption. Sinners should have a greater Abyssal aura.
