Hello.

This thread is meant to ask if the verse, Nexus Ascension (Known fully as Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension defies the heavens, yes I know the name is slop) fits the notability criteria to see if I could make pages for it or nah

So, to start off, the novel is pretty new I would say, having been made only around 6 months ago, and till now, it had gained;

  • Close to 2 million views in Webnovel site
  • 463 Chapters and a contract with the Webnovel site.
  • Around 14k collections, ie being added to the library and stuff like that, which is close to other Webnovel verses that were accepted in the wiki despite this one having less views than them.
  • 1611 ratings on pirate websites
  • Around 60 or so reviews
I'm not sure if that is enough, but if it matters, it also has around 780 Golden Tickets on Webnovel, with Golden Tickets iirc requiring a user to at least spend around 300 Coins, with that being around 4-5 or so dollars? Granted, I'm not sure if that means to spend 300 coins on that story alone, or buying 300 coins in general, regardless of the book, nor am I sure if that number resets every month or so.

Additionally, I think even if it is not enough to fit the requirements yet, considering the novel is still relatively new, I do think that eventually it'll fit it.

Also, as for what the series is, it's a Xianxia (as that genre is pretty damn popular on Webnovel), so it's filled with Cultivation slop. Currently, after around 480 chapters, the series does seem to achieve 1-B rating, albeit that was mostly a statement about the high-level shenanigans of the verse and I'm unsure if anyone actually scales yet, but there does seem to be tier 4 to tier 3 shenanigans in the very late chapters.

Unsure, I think there's too little views. But as you said, you can probably wait a bit for more.

Tbf, that's what I thought too, but novels like Journey of the fate destroying Emperor, which has like 5M views (2.5x of this novel) was accepted, even though it has like 20k collections (ie only a bit above this one). I think 14k collections is quite high, and considering the novel only started 6 months ago and yet already has this many views, as well as the fact it got a contract with Webnovels, I think it should fit. Besides, with how fast it is going, there's no doubt it'd reach smth like 3-4M or above views.

That said, do you have the notability wiki page by any chance? I couldn't find it anywhere, nor do I know the standards for web novels.

Damn, they are actually vague 🥀 No clue if this current novel is enough. Though at least, with the current rate it is growing, it should reach notability if it isn't enough currently.

Though, if it changes anything, since it is growing pretty fast, it is currently rank 19th I think when you search the Fantasy (Popular section, which is the default one) Genre on Webnovel.

AI generated cover image, it's over

It is intentionally vague, tbf. We can't really account for every platform or circumstance a verse might pop up in.

That said, I'd say this does not fit. The bar we tend to set is 1,000,000 views on a YouTube video, or a roughly equally impressive value for other places. This web novel has 1.8 million total views across over 400 installments. I'm also aware that these websites frequently bump those numbers up significantly, and as such, one looks at other metrics. It has 63 total reviews (a few shy of, for comparison, a local pizza place where I live!), it has the title of a seemingly unrelated and actually published novel, it is self-published itself... overall, the usual indicators seem to fall against it. If it was formally published and produced professionally, we would probably accept it outright.

Sorry to be the fun police with this sort of stuff.

99.9% of Webnovel stuff is gone, it is Ai-generated hell.

What would be acceptable number for views, then? IIRC we had other webnovels accepted around the range of, I think 4-5M views? I assume once it reaches the stage, it should be fine?

Additionally, as mentioned above, the verse does have pirate websites for it with like, 1800~ ratings iirc (Which isn't per chapter I think), and the verse does have 14-15k collections, which is quite a bit below another Webnovel we had accepted (An entire thread and all that) that had around 19-20k collections at the time it was accepted.

Also, I assume a Contract with the website/company of Webnovel doesn't change the verdict?

Our ideal would be a single chapter with a few hundred thousand views. Some sites show this information explicitly, which would be the ideal. Failing that, we would try to compare it to other acceptable verses where this information is known. A rough and shoddy process, but it's what we have.

I can't speak for every previously accepted case (we may well have allowed cases we ought not to have accepted), but I can say that the one you've linked, at least, seems to have more online presence. So there's that.

Nah.

Welp, worth a shot. Thanks!

I'll come back in a few months, I swear! Probably

Don't. Pick up a cooler verse. I'll give you tabletops to work on.
