hopefully this will be quick
so currently on the trailblazer's profile there is a justification that says "Welt complimented their power, stating that back on his home planet Earth, they would be rated as at least S-Rank in strength". for context, this is a reference to the game welt is originally from called Hi3 which takes place in the same cosmology where S rank valkries are regarded as the most powerful Schicksal valkries.
This sentence isnt bad at first glance, the trailblazer has shown tremendous growth throughout the story so its definetly nothing to scoff at, the main issue with this is well here on the wiki this is being used to actually compare the trailblazer to S rank valkries in Strength, Potency, and other stats and abilities.
why is this a problem?
first off, Welt doesnt actually like know the strength of S rank valkries. the only time welt has interacted with S rank valkries in the story was when he was 8 years old and got saved by reanna (ill come back to her in a bit) and theresa, while the other S rank valkries welt met one named cecilia before she wasnt even S rank (and no diffed her) and the other 2 he genuienly just doesnt know exist which leads into some insane power issues.
secondly, welt says that the trailblazer is AT LEAST an S rank keep these words in mind. the fact he said "at least" leads me to believe that hes saying the trailblazer would be the bottom of the barrel S rank the lowest one which is still an achievement in itself but you will see why this is an issue in a second.
third, S ranks very DRASTICALLY in strength and i mean to the point where you could genuinely argue that S ranks can one shot weaker S ranks so these cant be compared at ALL Otto himself even glazes durandal because theres no S ranks that can compare to her
now let me expand on issue 1 real quick so you can get a grasp of how insane the power gap is between S ranks and why welt comparing the TB to an S rank is a downgrade and not an upgrade.
As i mentioned before, Welt knows an S rank named Reanna who saved his life back when he was 8 years old. Reanna in regards to strength is... pretty fodder, like city level fodder, (do note that the welt who is speaking here is not the same welt who made the statement, the welt in the screenshot here is Welt Joyce while the welt who made the S tier statement is Welt Yang), meanwhile the trailblazer is accepted as low 1-C (most likely 3-C once we get the calc). the fact welt is comparing the trailblazer saying they are AT LEAST S tier would lead me to believe they are the weakest S tier of the bunch putting them below reanna since thats the only one welt got to know.
the other S rank welt somewhat knew was Theresa and... dont even get me started on this one. the only reason shes even S rank is because shes a MANTIS, otto's grandaughter, and has the most broken divine key, Oath of Judah. second eruption theresa you could argue is even weaker than reanna physically (i wouldnt but eh) and she is still an S rank so this kinda just gets rid of the whole S rank requires strength argument and again.. shes infinities below Rita and durandal... which welt has never even met so how would he gauge their strength?
cecilia is also an S rank welt met and like idek how to gauge her strength. if you consider her stronger than SE welt then this messes up all the scaling in hsr because this would mean stelle > welt (which it is narratively implied hes still stronger than stelle at this time) which would put into question why the TB didnt fight zephyro in the alternate timeline if they were stronger than welt. if we say shes weaker... oh boy... the TB would be compared to a like at most moon level character which messes up all the hsr scaling so yea remove this justification
the main reason for this thread is to get rid of the potential chainscaling this will bring about because using this as justification ruins scaling of HSR, the TB is literally being compared to character neither they or welt have like ever met and the last time welt fought with S tiers was in the second eruption... unless we wanna say loli sirin solos 90% of hsr.
TLDR:
the justification should get removed since it doesnt really add anything to the rating, hell the main justification is right under it so removing this wouldnt change anything scaling wise the justification only serves to fuel future chainscaling that shouldnt even be possible because;
1. these characters dont even know eachother exist
2. these S ranks vary drastically in strength ranging from city level to low complex multiverse level
3. welt is just complimenting and this isnt an actual power comparison
4. welt doesnt actually know how strong an S rank is as he has only ever fought with one ONCE in a dreamscape (not to mention theres other requirements for being an S rank than just being strong)
