Most of the frontpage slop focuses on gameplay rather than lore. This becomes apparent when you understand what Roblox's primary userbase is, which I will describe below:
You're right.... so we should submit our favorite NICHE INDIE GAMES instead! Like JOHN CLOWDER'S WORKS (4 CCU)! And KHIMERA: DESTROY ALL MONSTER GIRLS (99 CCU at its peak).
Mobile games are a more apt comparison for Roblox's front page game quality. A good chunk of Roblox's playerbase are mobile players, and mobile players are almost always going to be little kids on their parent's tablets. By nature of this, the most optimal way to cash in on this (as opposed to "make a meaningful experience") is to make mobile game-esque slop. This has been well-documented, this is why many front-page games do not have much apparent lore nor' settings; it is a waste of time to develop thought-provoking dialogue when your playerbase does not give a damn about reading text.
You are thinking of "Steal a Brainrot" Roblox in your post when you are describing the quality of the slop, not "Flappy Men" Roblox or "Zeppelin Wars" Roblox. Starving artists are going to be overshadowed by the breadwinners. The breadwinners are going to have their game featured on the front page because it is advantageous for the Roblox corporation to feature absolute dookie fartwater sewer sludge on the front page because alllllll of the little piggies wiggle their toes in excitement and gobble it up, which makes Roblox millions of dollars in revenue. Even with that in mind, some of the front page games like Jailbreak or Blast Zone are pretty decent for what they are, idk why those would get lumped up in the "low-quality slop" category LOLLLLLLL.
Plenty of random RPG Maker Games are more comparable to the random itch.io slop you are alluding to; the game engine is easy to use (easier than Roblox) & there's a billion profiles for them on the wiki. I don't think anyone here would know about Mad Father or Ib is if PewDiePie and Markiplier never graced them with their presence. These would be droplets in the ebb & floe of time not unlike those itch.io games.
John Clowder's works are literally this; the VSbattles wiki unironically had more documentation about Middens than the game's actual wiki for the longest time, thanks to ArbitraryNumbers' work on the verse's profiles.
Deepwoken, on the other hand, has an unofficial "character planner" website complete with a 3D render of what your character will look like. The community made this for xheir favorite randomitchiounityslopesque game with no incentive from the devs btw.
ULTRAKILL powerscalers will literally compare ingame missile projectiles to a giant punching and get 7-C to High 7-C for like an 8-B to 8-A feat, Deltarune literally has Tenna at 8-A for clapping his ******* hands faster than some electricity-looking projectiles. I used to wank my profiles just as badly as these people do now, Fantastic Frontier's characters were at City Block level because the knights in that game could swing their swords faster than electricity projectiles from a spellbook. Steve from Minecraft is 7-C because of the Ender Dragon running into diamonds and them disappearing with no apparent visual effects (PULVERIZEEDDDDDDDD OMGGGGG).
The player character from Elemental Battlegrounds is 7-C because the meteors they attack with are stated to be "overhead meteors", as in they're using their geokinesis to pull meteors from space to drop onto their enemies, and meteors would genuinely be that powerful if they fell into Earth's atmosphere without somehow breaking apart mid-fall. Do I think it's a bit silly they're 7-C without crazy showings of Environmental Destruction? Yeah, I do, and I would not mind them being lower either; I like it when there are more matchups to use for a character, and there's other feats to scale and decorate the profile with. This is an issue shared by most VSBattles profiles, not just 'blox verses.
Most of the garbage scaling you see in some the Roblox profiles is probably because they were not made by me. Barring this, PRESSURE's profiles seem pretty good for what they're worth, John Grace's profile seems well-made. John Fartattack's profile has a calc to its name and I was going to calculate every single ability he has at one point to play into the "high-effort profile for a dogwater game" joke, but I am too lazy.
I could scale John Fartattack's attacks to a shockwave or electrical attacks that are seen in game and get the vastly inflated results that you see in ULTRAKILL and some of Deltarune's characters. I did rough calcs on this; that would get John Fartattack to Large Town Level+ using the same reasoning those verses do for putting V1 at "Town level", or Tenna at "Multi City Block level". The precedent set by those two verses would probably allow it, but I'm not going to because that is the sort of stuff that makes people laugh at VSBattles wiki.
Most of the annoyingness in versus threads was because of Arkansalter acting like a particularly silly individual in every thread he's been. I don't personally hate the guy, he's just a little inexperienced. Ask Kachon about it
The only profile that felt like getting away with murder was John Fartattack. I intend on making profiles for the protagonist of Tongue Battles and Human Burrito. John Human Burrito would devour your GOAT in a single bite btw.

The only example I can think of is maybe Block Tales because it bases itself on the Roblox IP and can't exist with out it; even if you remove the R6/R15 blocky rigs that game has, you still have copyrighted concepts like "Roblox's history", or the Sword Fights on the Heights swords, or the "Noob" characters that exist in-verse that are specifically just Roblox's noobs.
A lot of the verses here can exist without the Roblox IP if you just replace the R6/R15 character rigs; Deepwoken, Arcane Odyssey, Fart Attack. You can replace the blocky character rigs and you end up with the same exact concept. There was a game that made the jump from Roblox to Unity with the same exact characters from the last game, and redesigned to not use the R6/R15 blocky rigs that Roblox lets you use. That game is infinitely better as a standalone experience on the Steam storefront that does not require an internet connection, has polished sprite work, and reworked character designs.
If you want a example of a dookie Roblox --> off-platform engine transition, here you go. What separates a 'blox game from a proper game is soul. I can port a Roblox game to steam and it could be complete cheeks if it's just a 1:1 port of a slop game with no changes. If you pour the same soul you put into that same 'blox game into the Steam version, you can end up introducing a new platform to a 'bloxgem.
Unturned is literally just Deadzone on Steam, and people ate that up. The game's premise is near-identical bar for a bunch of additions that were made well after its release; and all that needed to be done design-wise was to replace the R6/R15 character rigs with something else.
Was about to wonder who would make such an unhinged rant and then I saw the name. Glad you're at it again John Fartattack
