Unpopular opinion dump
Powerscaling is totally subjective and there is no truth to it. Most people who claim to believe this don't because they think certain characters have certain power levels, beat or lose to other characters, etc. People who actually do believe this actually 100% understand powerscaling as a game and set up game rules like 'feats only' or 'more obvious = more power'.
If powerscaling WAS objective then you'd have to read the Tour De Force, which has sections that can't be refuted without going into contradiction.
Tier 1 is nonsensical and actively drives normies away from the hobby (good)
Marvel and DC are reliant on pseudomath and pseudoscience to be considered especially strong cosmic verses. The maximal interpretation of their cosmologies puts the peak of their cosmology at +infinite size. The very peak and nothing less. And that maximal intepretation requires just straight up ignoring every evidence to the contrary, meaning Marvel and DC are finite and physical (i.e: they lose horribly to the Downstreamers). You need to not know math, know philosophy to think either verse isn't dying to shit like Warhammer.
CRTs sssssssssuuuuucccckkkkkkk fundamentally.
2010s-2020s Powerscalers are horrible at argumentation and logic and would be laughed out of the room by 2000s powerscalers, let alone any real logicians.
VSBW should hard enforce subjectivity. It should be more like CSAP in other words, if not more so (giving everyone their own tiering systems and rulesets entirely).
Some verses are unscalable and auto-lose. Max harshness Marvel and DC are two of them.
Kratos is overwanked because the lore doesn't say what people think it says (and also the level he's put at is logically incoherent so he loses based off of that alone). SMT''s lore has the honesty to say what it needs to say to get a visually sub-Dragon Ball level verse to multiversal and abstract.
Anyone who believes in raw featism should know that SMT would be < Naruto by their logic (and promptly get beat to death by SMT supporters lmao).
Non powerscaling opinions
High-powered fictions are a fluke (really peaking in 1970) and in 1900 or so most popular fictions were human level.
American comics will die when America falls. They're already dying now.
Xenogears > Xenosaga > Xenoblade
Mobile Suit Gundam (79) is better than 99% of light novels, including Re:Zero and Slime Tensei.

I think staff threads should only include wiki-wide changes and verse CRTs should be put in a separate tab, let's say "Imortant threads" board, that has more serious moderation and allows only notable threads, deleting those that don't fit or putting them into the normal CRT board.
Otherwise, staff threads can be and probably are being abused to downgrade verses without letting the people fight back probably. This is especially true due to Staff FRA trains.

Sometimes powerscalers get really angry and toxic and you need to shut them down. Those that aren't are exempt from this.

I have Toxic Powerscaler PTSD. (This is a joke)
Also because I get extremely angry at powerscalers bringing up powerscaling in non powerscaling spaces in a toxic way (not civil way), getting angry at people who disagree over powerscaling takes, etc.
My biggest take is that Marvel is fodder and so is DC but you won't hear me get Hulk/Red Lantern/Khorne-level angry over it. The best I will do is just write down everything I believe in and debunk bad arguments.

There are toxic people in every community, why go after powerscalers? Shippers are like 20x worse than us on average, political nuts are just clinically insane, but you're going after the nerds and geeks who look at funny numbers.
So you see someone who is very angry (and thus isn't gonna listen to reason or is too dumb to listen to reason) or is ragebaiting and you argue with them? Are you a professional waster of time?

sometimes i try to hear out the other person. Sometimes their arguments for their position are bad and they end up honing my arguments against their position.

you're still wasting time. The point of powerscaling is that it is a hobby. A hobby is meant to be enjoyed. If you only experience negativity, you're not gonna get any enjoyment from it, you're gonna just genuienly waste endless hours of your life you could be spending...idk, writing, painting.

Idk if it's a hot take or not, but IMO Tier 1 Smurfs > Tier 1 characters. They just feel much more interesting, how they have some form of broken abilities/resistances that they could box some eldritch creatures they won't stand a chance if it came down to stats, bonus points if this character is normal ass human (cough cough, John Constantine)

I know we're joking around right now, but if you ever truly feel like you cannot participate in powerscaling circles without constantly going into heated rants against people with bad takes, then I think it might be a good idea to take a break now and then to not let it all get to you.
This is just a hobby after all. Nobody's forcing you to do it, it's just meant to be something we do for fun in our spare time. And hey, so what if people participate in it differently than you do? Don't let them decide how you're supposed to engage in this community, just do your own thing and have fun with it, because it's meant to be fun!
I hope this doesn't come off as too rude or aggressive, because I genuinely hope you're doing alright and taking the time you need for yourself. Although you're a stranger on the internet, I still hope you're living a healthy and fulfilling life.
