(Note: The match results will only be updated to Ayanokouji and Yuuichi's profiles.)
  • Location: Large Forest
  • No prep time. No prior knowledge.
  • All are in character.

Ayanokouji’s advantages:
  • Team has an Intelligence and LS advantage.
  • Team has a stamina advantage. (Ayanokoji and Ryuuen are Superhuman)
  • Ayanokoji SOLOS everyone in combat.
  • Better seeker (Ayanokoji has Enhanced Senses).

Yuuichi’s advantages:
  • Team has an AP and Speed advantage.
  • Yuuichi's team is more loyal and won't betray him. (Ryuuen can be convinced to switch sides)
  • Better knowledge. (Yuuichi, Tenji and Kei have played the game before so they are more familiar with it's rules and the forest's layout)
  • Better hider (Tenji has Stealth Mastery).

Kiyotaka Ayanokouji (8): @Moo9n, @TheHuntsman1001, @XxZetsuxX, @Idc.violet, @Scrostinger, @MannyQ361, @RoggerReggor, @DeltaStriker22

Ayanokoji's travel speed had to be lowered or this match was a stomp.
He would have just scanned the forest (enhanced senses) for hours (superhuman stamina) at subsonic speeds (84.4 m/s+).

Before I jump in a few quick questions.
Ayanokouji’s advantages:
Yuuichi’s advantages:

1. Yuuichi is labeled as "Genius+" but his profile says just Genius, not "At Least" or anything like that.
2. Team Yuuichi has AP advantage but Koji does have the highest AP out of everyone. If this is "Average AP across the team" that's fine but likely should be specified.
3. Better Hider, Tenji has stealth mastery but so does Koji and it should be far superior to Tenji.

Tenji has stealth mastery, so it will be incredibly hard to find him.
Making him a good hider candidate. (Did I get something wrong...?)

That was a mistake. I've fixed it.
Though tbf, Yuuichi is the second smartest player here, third smartest at worst (depending on where you put Sakayanagi).

Yeah. But I don't see Ayanokoji choosing to be the hider and leaving the the result of the game up to Horikita and the others.
The penalties of losing a tomodachi game are far worse than anything in cote's exams.

Got it.

Ok
Yeah. But I don't see Ayanokoji choosing to be the hider and leaving the the result of the game up to Horikita and the others.
Fair enough that Koji will likely be a seeker.

Final follow up. Given that they are "just" doing Friendship Hide & Seek what is the penalty for violence here? Violence is prohibited under the game rules but how is this enforced here? Is this "you only get in trouble if you get caught" kind of situation?

Violence is forbidden against the other team, there are no rules against the use of it among teammates.
So, if for example koji manages to betray his team and join Yuuichi's side he can beat them all up with no consequences.

Like..

Sherlock holmes and his team is smarter than Yuuichi

I don't see what exactly he can do here
Yuuichi's side has a better idea of how the game works and the forest's layout. (This advantage is something Koji's side is unaware of)

This could help them find the best hiding spot for their hider while having enough geographical data of the place deduce potential hiding spots of team Horikita's hider. Making it easier to find the enemy's hider while keeping their hider safer.

Kinda useless when.. you know.. Koji has enhanced awareness

Koji is basically blindly walking around a Large forest to find Tenji so even with enhanced senses it should take him a while (possibly even a day).
Yuuichi's side on the other hand can just bolt to every good hiding spot they know of and potentially get lucky with finding Team Horikita's hider.

Though, I do agree that the enhanced senses are a bigger advantage than prior knowledge.

He can still sense people without knowing their locations though, Kushida being a good example in the 2nd year island exam

What I mean is, just because violence is forbidden what is stopping someone from using it?

In practical terms, if Koji beats up Yuuichi or Kei for example what happens? His combat speed is high enough to blitz either of them without them even realizing. We see this happen in COTE during the Y2 UIE where Takuya does this to Komiya and Kinoshita for example. As a hypothetical what stops Koji from breaking their legs given he is fast enough to do it without being caught?

Voting Ayanokouji's team. Having multiple team members with superhuman stamina will be much more important for seeking than top speed here. Plus with the intelligence advantage they will be more likely to come up with a strategy that Yuuichi's team can't counter. The prior knowledge of the area won't really be enough to overcome Koji's EG intelligence and he is capable of understanding and predicting somebody like Yuuichi's every move.

Setting aside whether Ayanokouji can get away with violence, I do think Ayanokouji will win this fairly easily. The violence argument is kind of secondary here so I will come back to it later if needed.

Yuuichi's side has a better idea of how the game works and the forest's layout. (This advantage is something Koji's side is unaware of)
While this is fair, the intelligence difference between Ayanokouji and Yuuichi (Smartest person for each time) is actually massive. Firstly just by VSBW logic an Extraordinary Genius is a stomp difference, but this should realistically be a much bigger difference than just that. Imo, Yuuichi should be much closer to Gifted than Genius rating so this is a genuine no diff comparison in terms of Intelligence. Additionally, Arisu is also smarter than Yuuichi and I would make a strong case Ryuuen is as well.

Then this is correct but honestly this understates the difference. Ayanokouji can consider every possible strategy Yuuichi's team could come up with and use that to predict their actions. He is capable of predicting future events via sheer calculation and given his calculation ability he can consider way more possible strategies than Yuuichi could even come up with. In practical terms this means that if Yuuichi does anything even "somewhat" intelligent Koji would have already considered it and prepared for it since he can predict more possibilities for what "Yuuichi might do" than Yuuichi can "actually come up with".

Then just in terms of seeking his team has the best set of advantages aside from just intelligence. Koji is by far the best seeker on either team even with reduced speed.
Though, I do agree that the enhanced senses are a bigger advantage than prior knowledge.

His enhanced senses are going to be incredibly useful here given he can detect the presence of people around him without being able to see them.

Also agree here. I'm not sure how large the forest is exactly but I can't imagine the game area is much larger than the 5km by 7km space the Y2 island exam took place on and the terrain is far less trecherous. This is relevant because Ayanokouji was able to cover distance in the forest much easier without getting tired meaning he can keep searching for longer than any other player. His Superhuman+ stamina reflects this.

The biggest obstacle will be Tenji's Stealth Mastery but Koji's enhanced awareness will be able to counter this.

The next item to consider is whether Ryuuen could be convinced to switch sides and this really shouldn't be an issue. When the game rules are explained Koji would immediatly realize this possibility, and since he knows his teammates and Yuuichi doesn't, Yuuichi doesn't know this about Ryuuen. Koji can easily prepare counters for this per my earlier points about being the far more intelligent team. He would either address this with Ryuuen from the start to remove the possibility of betrayal or maybe even more likely lay a trap for Yuuichi's team using Ryuuen switching sides as bait. This is very in character for Koji given he constantly presents his opponents with "false information" and uses it to trap them. He may use Ryuuen to lure out Yuuichi's team or to get information about the hider.

The last thing to note is that it is possible that once Ayanokouji first runs into a member of Yuuichi's team he will be able to cold read them for information about who the hider is and where they are. His information analysis and Analytical Prediction are things that nobody from Yuuichi's team has a resistance to. He has feats of getting even unrelated information from people from oberving them even through a camera so when it is something like this he can zero in on them. If he actually talks with them he can extract information through conversation as well.

Long post but yeah I don't really see how Ayanokouji's team could lose this. So voting Ayanokouji for these reasons.

Tbf the distance between koji and Kushida was at most in the low hundreds of meters range.
The forest should at least be several kilometers if not tens of kilometers (I don't remember if there was an exact number mentioned in the manga).
It's undeniable that koji will eventually sense Tenji's presence and will find his location soon after but it will still take him some time to do so.
There is a chance that that Yuuichi's side can get lucky with their prior knowledge strategy in the time it takes koji to lock on to Tenji's presence.

There are cameras throughout the forest to watch over the game. If he tries to break the rules his team will be disqualified and lose.
No blind spots were mentioned in the manga so I'm assuming there are none.

In the event koji manages to find a blind spot, he can use it to beat up the other side without getting immediately disqualified.
From there I can see Yuuichi's side reporting the incident to the game's staff and them investigating if Ayanokoji really did break the rules.
Koji can also just lie and say that Yuuichi's side beat each other up and are trying to frame him as their strategy to win the game.

In this case it'll mostly depend on who can convince the staff of their story. (Though, there being a blind spot is highly unlikely)

"Good" is ok, don't worry, but you have written "Better" hider, I would say it's better to clarify that the "better" indicates Tenji's comparison only with the rest of the TG cast and not with Kiyotaka.

Kiyotaka actively fully counters Tenji's stealth mastery by his own enhanced senses.

I listed Tenji as the better hider since I don't see koji taking that position.
Since koji won't choose to be a hider and Tenji is the only other player with stealth mastery, he is the best candidate for the position.

I see. Then it seems unlikely Koji would use violence as part of his strategy. Tbh enough cameras to cover an entire forest with 0 blind spots seems unlikely but sure.

While it's not impossible Koji could do something like break/disable or cover cameras it's not likely his strategy.

So yeah my above reasoning is what I'll stick with.

It would be a grave misunderstanding to define koji's senses as merely 'good hearing'; he is the only subject capable of active sensory filtering in chaotic environments. In this scene, he is surrounded by a group of approximately 38 people who are in active, vocal communication. Despite this immediate noise, and interference of wind and rustling leaves, Ayanokouji is able to filter out everything to detect an external threat.

The most critical details in this scene are he doesn't just 'hear' the sounds, he defines them as 'distant but distinct.' This proves that his brain can instantly analyze complex sound waves and perform distance estimation.

By identifying 'multiple sources,' he recognizes that the threat is not a single individual but a coordinated group, allowing him to immediately grasp the scale of the situation.

While other students are lulled into a false sense of security, Ayanokouji detects the danger before anyone else sees it before the threat even becomes 'visible' and takes immediate action.

It’s also important to note that Ayanokōji deliberately delays his warning to his team. He intentionally allows them to fall into the trap, ensuring they lose enough members to be weakened into a position where they have no choice but to accept an alliance with the other class. He wasn't just sensing the danger; he was managing the outcome of the entire encounter.

This specific feat is devastating for yuuichi’s team because they are currently playing in a scenario where they have zero prior knowledge of ayanokoji's sensory range. While they believe they are making silent strategic moves based on the forest's layout, they are unknowingly walking straight into kojii’s radar. Against someone who can filter out the noise of 38 talking people to pinpoint a distant footstep, the more Yuuichi’s team moves to reposition themselves, the more they expose their exact coordinates. Their lack of awareness regarding ayanokoji’s enhanced senses turns their every tactical maneuver into a beacon that reveals their location. Huge gap imo

Is there another game they could play? I feel like Koji was always bound to win this with his senses alone

This match kinda became a fight between Ayanokoji's abilities and team Yuuichi's luck instead of the mind game type match I was hoping for...
Maybe I should have added a rule like:
  • "Each team is only allowed to search the forest for 30 minutes before needing to return to base and stay there for at least 3 hours before continuing the search." or something.
This would have mitigated the superhuman stamina advantage on koji's side and also forced interactions between the groups leading to more intelligence based match...
