General DC Comics Discussion Thread

Something that often goes overlooked regarding Final Crisis is Darksied calling the Miracle Machine merely a "cargo cult MotherBox". Element X also broke open the Source Wall at all levels of reality ranging from the universal source wall around each universe all the way to the true Source Wall separating Creation from the Greater Omniverse.

True, true. It was also used by an alternate version of Batman from the World Forger’s Multiverse to build the Son Box around which he then forged the Final Batsuit, and it is the very substance of the World Forge itself and a constituent element of the Multiverse. The Element X is overpowered.

Metron's Mobius Chair appears to be the Ultimate form of Motherbox / Source technology. I have found some truly wild things that it is casually capable of doing. But I will get around to posting that when I make a Metron profile. An interesting fact about Metron is even Darkseid truly believes in his mission that he will ultimately pass beyond the final barrier to become one with the Source. Darksied even hopes that Metron will remember him when he does so. This is kind of funny as Darkseid is basically having a remember me when you make it big moment with Metron.

Holy **** this is bad

What is so bad about that? It seems like a series intended to teach frightened young girls to become more confident and courageous in a for them scary largely patriarchal world. That is a good purpose in my eyes. 🙏

A Jessica series should be more about her PTSD than generic teen drama.
I'd still take that over another DCAU John Stewart copy-paste tho

I believe that a profile for Element X should be made because it has many important feats and statements.

Element X

Tier: Varies, up to High 1-A at Full Potential

Attack Potency: Varies (Element X is a highly reactive substance whose output varies based on the wielder’s intent and desires), up to High Outerverse level (Element X is the very substance of the World Forge itself and a constituent element of the Multiverse. It serves as the Fire of the Gods, powering many New Gods’ technologies and artifacts, such as the Mother Boxes and the Mobius Chair. The Worlogog is identified as being the same as Element X, and is described as a fragment of The Source capable of affecting all space and time. It powered the Miracle Machine, which contributed to the defeat of Mandrakk (Rox Ogama) by enabling the chain of events leading to his downfall. Another Miracle Machine, built by Darkseid and powered by Element X, was used by him to bind himself to The Spectre. Darkseid called the Miracle Machine as a mere "Cargo Cult Mother Box" whose true power is associated with Element X and had connected Cyborg to the Multiverse, posing a threat to Barbatos. With Element X, the Justice League were able to defeat Barbatos and completely rebuild reality, with the energies released by Element X reverberating to the edge of the universe and breaking open the Source Wall in the process. With a bullet containing a miniaturized omniversal wormhole encased in Tenth Metal (Element X), John Stewart could transport The Totality outside the Source Wall, destroying it)

You should put that Cargo Cult MotherBox quote in as it shows that a Miracle Machine, powered by Element X, is merely an extremely primitive version of a MotherBox being but a mimicry from Darkseid's perspective.

Side note: anyone that reads this should look up Cargo Cults. It is both interesting and very funny.

Yes, this would be very relevant to add, and let's not forget that the true power of MotherBox, whose core is Element X, connected Cyborg to the energies of the Multiverse and posed a threat to Barbatos. This MotherBox-powered Cyborg could also transport himself and the rest of the Justice League to Hypertime. In Darkseid War, Hal Jordan fused his ring with a Mother Box and became the God of Light, no longer bound by space and time and as omnipresent as light.

Darkseid called the Miracle Machine as a mere "Cargo Cult Mother Box" whose true power had turned Cyborg into a living conduit for the Multiverse after fully merging with his Mother Box, allowing him to draw on the energies of the Multiverse to enhance his strength, pose a threat to Barbatos, and navigate through Hypertime. With Element X, the Justice League were able to defeat Barbatos and completely rebuild reality, with the energies released by Element X reverberating to the edge of the universe and breaking open the Source Wall in the process. I added the Cargo Cult MotherBox and combined it with the MotherBox true power.

Came to think about it, this add another feat for The Darkest Knight since Element X is insufficient to defeat him according to Wonder Woman.

Eh. That is just user limitation (a literal skill issue). You could scale the darkest Knight above the capacity of the Justice League to Destroy with Element X; however, as stated this is just a user limitation. As a direct Conduit to the Source, if they actually knew what they were doing, the Justice League could have obliterated the Darkest Knight with but a thought. I will get to these highest level capabilities of Element X though when I make my Metron profile.

Well, I think that our current DC Comics cosmology tiering seems very exaggerated in general, so I would greatly appreciate if you attempt to properly reevaluate all of it in private by explaining to and with the help of Ultima, Qawsedf234, and other of our tiering system experts. 🙏

The High 1-A Tier concerns the true potential and scale to many aspects of the cosmology, but I will revise them with other knowledgeable members and tiering system experts if necessary.

Thank you. That would be greatly appreciated.

I can create a private discussion thread for you and them where you can explain our current scaling if you wish. 🙏

The cosmology is in a great spot, its accurate. The high 1-A stuff is valid and has been for years, i dont the habit of making this more complicated and head ache inducing with revisions every few months in a effort to purposely downscale the verse?????

No, that's not the case. In truth, there are things that reach that level, even though there are many elements that violate High 1-A, and even 1-A at that. Specifically, I never saw any admin thoroughly discuss, or even address, the upgrades in the Crisis Cosmology before the merge. Nobody wanted to bother. I don't want to blame the admins here, but that's the truth. This led to illogical and bloated upgrades.

I plan to make a small CRT for the Material Realms section in a few days, possibly tomorrow if i can, not for universes and hypertimelines (since that has already been covered), but concerning the Orrery of Worlds, the Timestream, and Bohm's Implicit Order, which has nothing to do with this section of DC Cosmology. Stay tuned.

This would downgrade certain aspects of the cosmology, but also upgrades others.

Some questions

1. Is this one of those small threads that require 2 staff votes or is it the normal one?

2. Would this affect the recent low 1C thing or no?

That is good as the Material Reality section definitely needs some work.

I can provide a lot of stuff regarding the alternate multiverses and a few things for higher dimensional stuff and the Timestream.

No it will not be impacted: “not for universes and hypertimelins (since that has already been covered)”

Perfect. If you wish, you can write to me privately about it.

Good luck trying to get staff votes. The wiki has been strangely dead when it comes to staff members lately.
