My Hero Academia General Discussion Thread #18

Yeah, it doesn’t really make sense for a Deku who is narratively implied to be weak to be actually the strongest hero alive at that point. The whole narrative of the AFO Chaos battle is that Deku inspires others to act due to his weakness and it requires the rest of Class A to take attacks for him and push him forward.
Yes it does lol. Denki says that despite Deku being the strongest person alive, he can't feel reassured. The whole point is that Deku can't emulate All Might's energy and methodology because he's his own person. Not that he's physically weaker.

That is before he launches all of OFA into Tomura alongside his own accumulated power. Denki said that while he was in Overlay fighting Tomura. The final punch is way after that when he’s weaker.

Deku when he fights shiggy in overlay is still PAM lvl

The Final Punch is not since its later in the fight and hes way weaker then

Yo, I had this recalc of the Izuku and Bakugou storm feat made up like 3 years ago give or take, I was wondering if anyone could confirm whether it holds up or not, and if we could possibly apply the Prime Might multiplier to it giving the context surrounding the feat?

Feat: Deku and Bakugo vaporising Nine's storm

I am going to be looking at an already existing calc and fine-tuning it to give a more believable number. Namely, I will be reducing the height of the storm slightly and will be assuming percentages of the storm being condensed water, instead of the whole thing being vaporised.

The feat in question is in this clip, specifically the second "blast" when they start screaming harder. It looks as if the storm is vaporised, at least the majority, thus I'll be using the vaporisation of water.

Updated stuffs:

Storm height px = 358 px

Storm height m = 307412.2976 m

Storm volume = 1.119525302x10^17 m^3 = 1.119525302x10^23 cc

Assuming percentages of condensed water:

Given that the storm is very dark, even looking blue/purple in some areas, it's likely to contain quite a bit of condensed water. 10% seems like a good start point, though it may contain more, so I'll also be doing higher percentages alongside it.

10% = 1.119525302x10^22 cc

20% = 2.239050604x10^22 cc

50% = 5.597626509x10^22 cc

100% = 1.119525302x10^23 cc

Vaporisation of water = 2575 J/cc

Energy required:

10% = 2.882777653x10^25 J

20% = 5.765555305x10^25 J

50% = 1.441388826x10^26 J

100% = 2.882777653x10^26 J

All of them are Multi-Continental. 100% is likely not the case, however the others are all plausible.

Edit: Video ain’t working, but it’s just the final battle on Nabu Island.

Yo can you calc how hot endeavors flames r since it was compared to star and stripes laser attack that vaporized the parts of the ocean! Or in vigi he shoots fire at pure plasma and it explodes

I was re-watching the Deku vs. Shigaraki fight where he uses Gear Shift for the first time, and I don't know if this was ever looked into, but why is it so different from the manga? In the final clash, there was no struggle—the manga was just a blitz. But the anime shows us that apparently Deku's Fa Jin + Gear Shift combo attack hurts not only Shigaraki's body but also the All For One persona inside him, showing him also bleeding from the attack. And afterwards, it stuns HIM? Banjo says, 'Well, he can't move either' (when Deku is on recoil) because One For All and All For One are still resonating with each other. I don't know if these feats are relevant, but it seems like something that's been overlooked or doesnt matter cuz didnt happen in manga.

i think manga has better feats for the clash anyways, and the anime is weird? We are told afo he can't keep up with deku, yet he can connect a fist with deku when he's using Overdrive + Fajin stored up??? like wouldnt deku be even faster then when he first used gear shift since he has fajin

though the anime trying say deku without transfering his punches can harm souls with that all for one bleeding out visual played twice

I imagine it’s different to make the fight fit the animated medium better. I mean, the biggest complaint I’ve heard for the Gearshift fight is the strictness to the manga’s panels and unwillingness to stray from the manga’s presentation.

They extended the clash to fit You Say Run I believe. The anime shows Shigaraki move before Deku makes his hit, so it’s also likely that Deku is, for whatever reason, trying to clash with Shigaraki (possibly to weaken his body by destroying his main appendage). Thus he’d still be faster.

They show him bleeding out in the manga twice as well. I think it’s just supposed to represent Tomura’s consciousness regaining control due to AFO focusing more on the fight with Deku than subduing Tomura. We see the same visual later when Tomura bursts out of him.

Heres the link to stuff im talking about deku punches effect souls?? Without transfer

Those statements don’t say that his punches affected the soul. They are talking about how Shigaraki’s defiance is causing the merge to be halted. These statements are also present in the manga as well (chapter 369 for image 1, and chapter 377 for images 2-4).
