I don't see why. Human bites measured when the teeth make contact with the stress testing device don't involve anything moving in space, but it does involve forces being exerted on objects that would move them if they weren't counterbalancing that movement with an equal force in the opposite direction. Pushing a block into a wall still involves force (and therefore, acceleration, and therefore, speed), even though the block's not being moved.
Exactly. And CGM's have been accepting feats like this for ages, it's you who needs to make a new consensus and overturn what we do. Just because you, personally haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist, as evidenced by the handful of accepted and implemented calcs, by CGM's (obviously, otherwise they wouldn't be accepted) where this is utilized.

What? This isn't a matter of you rejecting a calc, it's a matter of you rejecting a calc because you "think" we don't do that.
In which there's no rule on it, and on the contrary, something we do accept.
As it stands, the formula is accepted, used, and implemented, you must change that as a whole before you can reject it on those grounds.

Other way around, currently, there's nothing wrong with the calc based on our, as of now, accepted practices and implemented calculations except the area aspect of it, but that'd just make it higher. You'd need to deal with that too btw because the Naruto formula calculates it via area^2, even if it's wrong.
I don't like that reasoning. Sometimes calcs have errors. Sometimes people accept calcs that have errors because they don't realise that the errors exist. That doesn't mean that we're validating the errors for use forevermore, and if someone points out that the error exists, and no CGM goes "actually I don't think that's an error", it shouldn't still be able to get added to profiles.

Or if you wanna keep that logic, go ahead and multiply all destruction calcs by 10x, because I once made a calc that converted to joules incorrectly, leading to a result 10x higher than it should have been, which was accepted by another CGM and implemented onto profiles. While that one was fixed, I wouldn't be surprised if something like it was still lurking out there.

No offense, but that's beyond a reach. There's being slow, and there's being a statue.
In the cases of bites, I'd say a hydraulic press is more apt, a hydraulic press that's already on contact and not descending. I can't think of a single, not ******* one example in fiction where what you're suggesting would actually be the case. If the creature in question can move its mouth even at a snails pace it wouldn't really matter.

Hell thinking on it, the fact these things can exist, without every muscle fiber tearing, unbinding, and more already answers this point for such slow, continuous actions.

So? Our entire system is, the whole of it, has numerous issues, we run with those for simplicity do we not?
The grounds for rejection wasn't based on error, at least not initially, but rather the fact you don't think we do that because it seems slightly at odds with the other rules.

That isn't good enough, if we did shit like that holy hell. Like just last month KT was saying durability and scaling should only be done based on area, is he wrong? No, he's right, 99% of our profiles, calcs like that and even basic scaling is laughably full of shit, but he still would have had to go through the grounds of getting such a thing accepted as that isn't how the current standards function, you, just like him, need to actually go through that process too.

That doesn't mean that we're validating the errors for use forevermore, and if someone points out that the error exists, and no CGM goes "actually I don't think that's an error", it shouldn't still be able to get added to profiles.
It's up to you to actually prove it's one, shouldn't be used, and so on. That's what you're doing, so that's good, but actually do it first before saying it's completely wrong given it's you who's trying to change precedence.
Or if you wanna keep that logic, go ahead and multiply all destruction calcs by 10x, because I once made a calc that converted to joules incorrectly, leading to a result 10x higher than it should have been, which was accepted by another CGM and implemented onto profiles. That's a **** up on your end, a better example would be if we multiplied every explosion calc by 10x and have for quite some time. In which yes, you'd need to make a CRT for that too even if it's wrong. Like we have standards, precedence, and rules for good reason lad.

I don't understand what you mean, force involves mass and acceleration, LS is force, idk what to tell you if you think saying that is a stretch.

Withstanding a mouth lowering would scale to the mass of the upper half, multiplied by the acceleration that it's coming down with, which for moving at a snail's pace would really matter.

I don't think this sorta thing's incalculable, I just think the method, as provided, doesn't work, and seems contrary to our standards.

Gonna go off on a tangent here, since we've reached an impasse on the other stuff.

We already kinda do that. There's the alterations to our explosion standards that happened a while ago, and we had a thread a year ago about making durability scaling more complex, which was applied to our Durability page, such that it no longer allows scaling for just barely surviving, notes that surface area can make scaling invalid, notes that causing someone to cough up blood only scales AP to the strongest similar attack that didn't make that person cough up blood, etc.

    Unironically a you issue here.

What? As said, that isn't how bite force is calculated, at all. Nobody is calcing the KE of a bite, but the pressure, which is effectively the tensing and pulling of muscles and ligaments. Whether the fact they do it at the speed of light or at a literal snail's pace, the end result wouldn't change because that simply isn't how bite force of animals is calculated, it's done by pressure from a standstill, biting onto some sort of device. A continuous, applied, strain. The fact you're even wording this as "upscaling" LS also comes off as highly disingenuous, nobody thinks of treats these types of things as LS for the upscaled characters in question, the only reason LS is involved is because a 3rd party just so happens to **** with it, but the same would be true if they ****** with their mass too, which we do.

Unless you're actually trying to argue that we can't be sure characters can flex proportional to their size (even though the fact they open and close said mouth already shows the muscles function as expected), because that's effectively what you're arguing, but at that point why stop there? How do we know they can even move their arm? What if the muscles and ligaments aren't proportionally strong enough to move it without snapping? What about even just turning their head? Blinking?

I get being conservative, like speed? Yeah sure, makes sense, the larger a thing is, at least irl, the longer it'd take nerve impulses to cover distance and thus it'd lead to a proportionally lower speed and from there lower KE, that problem doesn't apply to bite force though, not to mention this isn't even far off from shit we even do irl for various large extinct animals.
I don't think this sorta thing's incalculable, I just think the method, as provided, doesn't work, and seems contrary to our standards.
What standards? It definitely isn't the speed or AP nor is it even LS. The fact of the matter is the standards don't actually exist for this, and they're heavily scrutinized standards to begin with that people evidently don't quite agree with so using that as the crux I wouldn't bet on unless you actively get this accepted.

I don't mind the method being wrong, hell it probably is. But the concept of "proportionally higher bite", I on the other hand back quite vehemently, whether a new method comes about to do it I'm all for, tossing it entirely. Not so much.
    We already kinda do that.
There is no "kinda", either you do, or don't.
That's basic scaling, not at all what I was talking about.
Say someone tanks an explosion, 1 ton. Then dude B punches him and breaks a rib, oh wow he scales to 1 ton right? That's how we treat that every time after all. Technically no, Dude A might have walked off an explosion, but that's durability for his whole body, not just a rib. Technically speaking you'd divide the area of Dude B's punch off that of Dude's body, and get the true value off that, but we don't do that, now do we? That's one of many, many, contrivances, approximations, and simplifications we do for the **** of it. Gets even worse when you take into account things like swords too.

I will say though, why are you arguing this with me? Go deal with your thread, that's all that matters, nothing said here actually matters until that's resolved.
Hi chariot, can you send me the CRT that RTZ accepts as 4D, I couldn't find it, sorry for the inconvenience.
You said that strong people from kakyoin can take size manipulation, can you post any evidence? and how do we do it.
    Chariot190
    Chariot190
I said anyone with a higher Stand power than Kak can do it.
That ultimately only results in Dio, Jotaro and Enya and maybe part 4 Kira.

Enya is JoJonium, it says her strength of will and stand power is comparable to that of stopping time (Aka Jotaro and Dio, who are above Kak in Stand Power and will). Dio and Jotaro speak for themselves, lots of stuff in the later half of Part 3 saying they have the strongest will and stand power (Jtar doing it in a lightnovel with Kak is just a bonus). Kira was just a maybe due to a force of will statement putting him above Jotaro, although only briefly, plus Part 8 Kira has it, but that's a hard maybe.

There's also Pol, but I can't think of anyone who's confirmed more Stand power than him except Jotaro and Dio. Not even Diavolo was flat-out stated to be above him in pure will or stand energy.

I would say Bruno, Gio and Mista, based on just the shit they've done, but, no statements actually exist saying they're > Kak/Pol in stand power.

I should note that being stronger in stats than these dudes doesn't mean you have more "Stand Power", it's more circumstantial and dependent on what the Stand itself is.

Yes, but it won't be Class 50 unless it's some ******* thick hinges, and the metal part itself is getting torn (Like obviously ripping the hinges out of a wooden wall or something won't be worth as much). If it's a standard house door, you shouldn't expect anything beyond Class 1.

If you mean the entity from Jorge Joestar.

Beyond is a "god" that exists in a world above the main cosmology, likened to an author or writer.
It picks characters and they become "the protagonist", and Beyond will help them and guarantee their end goals, but not inherently instantly. As Beyond manipulates the plot, it's concerned with the narrative flow as any author would be, as such while the end result is assured, the journey to get there might not be so straightforward.

There exist 3 Beyond, Dio's, Joji's and George's, but in reality, they're all actually the same entity and a trinity (likened to the father, the son, and the holy spirit).

I mean i could give a whole expodump but I'm not sure exactly what it is you want to know but that's a basic summary of it.
Because it is just a thing.
There's nothing more to add, many characters across fiction have a supernatural ability or exceptional quality that is just "hit good", there's nothing more to elaborate upon. The power itself is the act of hitting good, and 90% of the time, it has absolutely nothing to do with any of the examples you listed, and if they did then we wouldn't even be having this conversation as we'd just list it as those instead. Fiction is fiction basically, sometimes it just be like it do.

Whether it be through skill, supernatural ability, or whatever, sometimes it's just a thing, I'm more tackling the supernatural or wacky front of it atm though based on your arguments regarding it exclusively being a skill thing or an ability it's not.
I think those cases should just list it as skill. I think that's a fair default assumption. Hopefully you can imagine other times where we do similar things on the site, so we don't have to get in a side-debate about whether an example I come up with is valid or not.
I'm not Careless, I'm just taking them at face value and trusting what they said. But I'm assuming his ability extends beyond just weapons and the scene just happened to have it be with a weapon, just like the proposal above extends beyond just weapons. And no, I'm not talking "pick up pebble and hit good", given that's an improvised weapon. I've said enough times now that extends to anything and everything, not just weaponry hence the issue.
I don't think it extending to non-combat-applicable things is an issue, if it hits combat applicable things anyway. I don't think that justifies a new page.

But for the few cases where it is combat applicable but weapon mastery wouldn't apply (spells) I'd want a combat expertise page.
Then why bring up the title? You bolded the name, not the content.
I didn't bold it, I just ctrl+c ctrl+v'd the first few sentences lol.
I think everyone would tbh, but I don't think anyone is willing to start it in light of the potential "to much work" pushback.
I think that's silly. It's nigh-zero work to just set up a redirect from weapon mastery/martial arts to the new page.
    Agnaa
    Agnaa
I have, but when I think about aiming shit in those, I mainly think of stuff like odor sleuth (which is just enhanced senses), lock on (which is just them focusing to aim better, which would fall under skill), foresight (similar, but maybe info analysis too?), etc. I can't really come up with stuff that can't really be explained.

ig there is moody, but it's pretty wack to come up with a way that could make sense in a battle situation in general. Given that it also boosts/decreases evasion, while all the other evasion boosters I can think of have much better justification than "idk they have different moods". Especially with all that being separate from speed, I think it's weird to take that ability seriously in a battleboarding context.

FF7 has pretty much nothing, accuracy is only modified by the weapon (some weapons are easier/harder to aim with, ig), the status effect darkness (okay, if you can't see properly you can't aim as well, seems fair), and luck stat giving lucky dodges/crits that bypass accuracy/evasion (doesn't sound like marksmanship, just supernatural luck).
    Chariot190
    Chariot190
There's a bunch of accuracy aiming moves or stuff in Pokemon, not just those, wasn't even thinking of evasion moves, given that's affecting the opponent, not yourself, like obviously something like Double Team and Sand Attack ain't shit.
Lock-On I was also excluding because it's inconsistent as shit, it's like literally everything, they change how it works across media all the time, PMD, manga, anime, etc.

I mean, I didn't even consider Moody, but hey, it is what is, doesn't need to make sense, sometimes it just be like it is.

    he's only played FF7
My brother in christ, there's like 20 of them, and like 40 if you go include shit like Tactics, Crystal Shards, and any other number of game :(
Also for the weapon thing, not exactly, that just comes off as head-canon, in a verse filled with random fucky magic, especially for things like Tifa's gauntlets, Aerith's magic, and so on. Like I could maybe get Vincent, guns can have a slew of things that effect aim or bullet trajectory, but some of them have little to no reason to arbitrarily affect precision.
what the **** does Sith even use again, I forget
But case and point, most FF games do in fact have a luck stat, and sometimes they even have hit-up items or whatever, but that's exactly what i mean, it ain't luck because luck is already a thing.
It's just inexplicable "lmao you hit good".
FF6 is the goat btw, 7 is good but it ain't beating the king

Question about Jojo speed scaling, Why doesn't enraged Josuke scale to Jotaro? He was fast and strong enough to force Jotaro to use time stop for the first time in forever, and he even tagged him judging by how his hat was hit by Josuke's restoration. It seems like he should just downscale

We want actual statements and hard evidence. The anime clip by itself could just be dismissed as Jotaro being taken off guard, which he was, but other material puts pissed CD up there with him anyway and elaborates on that scene and their comparability. The scene by itself is evidence but not solid.

Meh, preferring policing posts afterwards is fair enough, but comes with its own slew of issues.

Particularly, being away while people derail, needing to handle it later, but not having that be considered a violation of anything. People can always say they thought their unhelpful posts were helpful, and/or that they had to respond, if we only police this sorta thing afterwards. But if we say beforehand "You can't post without permission", people don't really have that sort of plausible deniability.

Plus, I think that sorta thing lends itself to greater accusations of bias. Hell, I think it more enables staff to be biased. Either selectively enforcing it on purpose, or just not having something meet a conscious level of being deletion-worthy unless it comes from someone you don't like. "Did a staff member say you could comment this" is pretty objective, "Is this post helpful" is less so.
    Chariot190
    Chariot190
Particularly, being away while people derail
Most of your alternatives have the same issue, not everyone is always gonna be available for there to be a bunch of middlemen or OP or whatever.
Except in this case, it's not "these staff have to be active on a 3rd party site or OP and also have to be available to listen to yu and parrot what you said", but rather they just have to be on the forum and lurking the thread.
but not having that be considered a violation of anything.
    Doesn't need to be.
People can always say they thought their unhelpful posts were helpful,
Perhaps, but so what? That already happens, nothing changes.
and/or that they had to respond
    Probably did, otherwise why bother?
But if we say beforehand "You can't post without permission", people don't really have that sort of plausible deniability.
What part of "if generally given the ok" was missed here?
I'm fine with lads needing permission in general, what I have issue with is the "needing permission for every post" given how absolutely asinine, and how much pestering of dudes that leads to, all your alternatives have way too many cons over positives, is overall just a nuisance for everyone involved, and the very fact that you can, in fact, police it afterward and are doing that same thing either way, such a thing requiring less effort than the alternatives as well and always being able to go "yeah ok, you derailing now" or whatever, well tbh idk, I legitimately can't think of any situation beyond the most egregious ones where there's more positives than negatives.
Plus, I think that sorta thing lends itself to greater accusations of bias.
Dude, it is biased, both are. No getting around it, it literally comes down to if a dude with a fancy title says "yeah" or "nope", and you know goddamn well some staff, not gonna point any fingers, absolutely skirt that edge.
Hell, I think it more enables staff to be biased. Either selectively enforcing it on purpose, or just not having something meet a conscious level of being deletion-worthy unless it comes from someone you don't like.
Multiple staff exist, just use common sense here.
And my dude, that last one already happens.
"Did a staff member say you could comment this" is pretty objective, "Is this post helpful" is less so.
Except "Did a staff member say you can post this", is LITERALLY the same thing with an extra step that ultimately doesn't change the point you just tried to make.
The staff is only going to say you can post it if they think what you're saying is helpful. Your point here applies either way, either a staff personally thinks it's helpful and says ok post that, or a staff doesn't think it's helpful and tells you to **** off and you're derailing after the fact.
Either way you go about it, it all comes down to something that could easily be accused of bias from staff so I'm not sure that's the best point you could be making here, it's applicable either way you go about it.

Also I hope you understand I'm talking under the assumption that were given a general ok from staff in the first place 🗿
Also again, why are you going on about this? I thought I made it quite clear I think your reasoning isn't sound but it's useless to argue about it.
    Agnaa
    Agnaa
Also I hope you understand I'm talking under the assumption that were given a general ok from staff in the first place

Ah okay, I misunderstood. Thought it was mainly about being knowledgeable with the verse and/or having helped work on the thread, with the permission from staff being an additional step you could take or leave.

I have dudes that fit the other tiers, they just aren't published or finished cooking like some Bloodstained, Zelda, Elden, and niche indie shit and random novel jojo dude. So I don't have much to recommend for those specific categories beyond the obvious lol Goku or other popular lads.

Makes sense, looks like I'm gonna have to find something else to throw folks like Garrosh Hellscream and Kel'Thuzad at
In Pucci profile it says that his destructive power varies via time acceleration but then does that mean that if he's speed hits infinite then the moving objects will have infinite kinetic force ?
do part 7 and 8 exist in jojo because of Pucci universe reset ?

Well if I'm reading the scan correctly :
".....the only thing that there is the explosive spin but because of that they can cross through anything..."

Doesn't that implies that the reason why it destroy everything in it's path is because of the explosive ability rather than it being a void ?
    Chariot190
    Chariot190
Go Beyond does in fact have "Explosive Spin" imbued with it yeah, in fact, it's a void that has the spin, but it's still not the same thing as the explosive bubbles Josuke shoots out of his fingers or filled the room against WoU as those ones still use actual bubbles while Go Beyond's defining feature is that it doesn't use anything.

That's actually why it can bypass the Calamity bullshit, as Spin can bypass Calamity, it surpasses the logic of the world or whatever, but unfortunately the things Spin is imbued with or used as a conduit do not, so they still get ****** by Calamity.
(For example, if Gyro or Johnny used Spin steel balls or Nails, the Spin itself would likely be fine and ignore Calamity, but because it uses a conduit of a steel ball and nail, which do not ignore calamity, the attacks will still get ******.) This applies to Josuke's other spin attacks as they still use a physical bubble which is why only Go Beyond, the void one that doesn't exist could hit Toru/WoU, as the Spin's conduit was quite LITERALLY nothing.
Basically, Go Beyond is a void, with Spin.
    As stated, well, right here

Go Beyond is lines that are infinitely thin to where they become 0 lines, and because they don't exist all that's left is pure spin.

Which again, are not the same thing as Josuke shoots from his fingertips as said here by Mamezuku.
Meh translation from before they knew what the **** was going on they even apologized for it, the translators didnt realize it was two different things at the time.
I haven't updated the profile with newer ones tho, tehy didn't exist at the time of writing

"That" isn't talking about the fact it's just explosive spin, "That" is the whole of it, being "they do not exist, and they're just spin, so they can go through whatever the **** they want". That isn't a property of the Spin, but rather the property of the whole thing he just said (The pass-through anything part is due to them not existing, the transcending calamity part is due to spin), the Spin's contribution is the resistance to law/fate/luck/whatever WOU is cooking manip (Also the fact it can explode, sever curses, etc but whatever you get me).

It's why both "Something that does not exist in this world" and "Explosive Spin" are highlighted, he's referring to the combination of them as to why it can do all the funny meme shit it does.

Also here's another example of Go Beyond alt+deleting shit it passes through, though you probably noticed it already.

I'll look in a bit, but I know **** all about SS beyond when that shit was called knights of zodiac and aired on tv, and that one season with the good op.
So my opinion will just be what I glance at from the scans given so it might not be perfect.
I think Matthew was a big SS goon, you could call in him, but he's inactive most of the time.

Just post your thoughts on the brought up concerns of it.
Sorry for bothering you but I wanna ask you something about Johnny joestar profile, it says that the infinite rotation can bfr people based on this but how is this BFR exactly? All I'm seeing is valentine suffocating to death.... that's all
    Chariot190
    Chariot190
Not really elaborated on in those examples, or at least not clarified, but the Infinite Rotation deconstructs you down to at least a cellular level, and the pieces then get sucked into an alternate dimension until nothing is left of you in this world.

Funny gets sucked underground, but after he's done being torn apart the remnants will be sent to an alternate dimension (As Johnny says, after he died, he got sent to an alternate dimension).
And the same with the girls, once broken apart, the pieces get sent away.

The dimension in question isn't specified but it's not that hard to figure out, based on what we know about Tusk, it's probably the gap between dimensions (as in the gap between universes), or the gap between dimensions (mathematical this time; that johnny can reach when an object spirals down toward infinity).
    Gohanblanco217
    Gohanblanco217
Well....do you have an other clear cut scan showing valentine being BFR'd due to the infinite rotation ? Also does the BFR only work after it kills you ?
    Chariot190
    Chariot190
Not really. Act 4 was only ever used in two fights. We just know it happens because it's explicitly stated to happen multiple times, those struck by Act 4 eventually break down and get sent to an alternate dimension. Assuming it's working on the same basis as Act 3, I have some scans of that though in how that works.

The BFR isn't tied to killing you, it's tied to the deconstruction. The bits that it breaks you down into get sent into an alternate dimension. If, for some reason, you could survive as tiny minuscule bits of yourself, there'd be no reason why you wouldn't get BFR'd, but it's not like Act 4 touches you and sends you away instantly, it's a byproduct of breaking apart. It's less about killing and more about being broken apart.
Yo Chariot wassup, recall me? You helped me make the page of Sports Maxx some eons back 3 years ago lol. How u doin?
Hey Chariot can you reply to these 2 VS threads if its not a problem?

Already did, the speed is the more impressive part, did a full swing in the time it moved literally 4 pixels.
I have a Part 6 overhaul cooking. Calcwise there's only two calcs left to do, DD stopping that bottle from crushing Annasui is one, especially because it's directly stated that the Stand's strength decreases in direct proportion to the height decrease, aka DD stopping the bottle would scale to him as if he stopped a bottle that big at normal height.

Got about 16 tons for LS, about Class 25 but I need to iron it first.
is what I would say, but I got distracted and started doing RE4, Batman and Part 3 overhauls since, Ill finish the Part 6 stuff up eventually.
