8-B+/Low 8-A Tournament Round 1, Match 5: Helmed Horror vs Spider-Man

I need to say as well, teleportation magic would absolutely allow a creature to exit bindings such as webs. I recall this being stated by Jeremy Crawford (the rules designer of the game). So being restrained by webs doesn't put anybody out of commission here.

I mean

Spider Sense stops 90% of the Horror's arsenal, barring Magic Missile which hits regardless of other factors like "blocking it". However this definitely isn't an opening move for the Horror. Speed remains unequalized so the Horror is the faster of the two with even faster reactions. Additionally, the terrain supports the Horror more, as Spider-Man has less shit to swing on. Even if he did swing, Horrors can just walk on air, making the only real benefit wide arcs of movement.

If it comes down to it, I think the Helmed Horror wins here, too, though it's definitely not by an insane margin like the Drinker.

Then with that advantage somewhat mitigated...

I still lean in favor of Horror, regardless, methinks. The fact that it can eventually mitigate Spider-Sense along with any movement advantage Spider-Man might have sells it for me. Close match, though.
