The comics did establish that some version of the Battle of Hypori still occurred in canon that involved Grievous killing numerous Jedi. The Brotherhood novel, according to the author, was also apparently supposed to briefly imply that Ki-Adi-Mundi still ended up fighting Grievous in this continuity as well.
