Actual power or game mechanics?

I’m attempting to create a page for a video game character, and one of the lesser powers of the character is that he can absorb energy and use it to fuel some of his other powers through the use of an item.

The thing is, the game only mentions it once, briefly, and is really rather vague about how it works. Furthermore, in a later game, this character no longer has this item, but is still able to use the power in question. This goes completely unexplained.

Would this be considered game mechanics or is it fine to include it on the page?

Need more context, aka, mind giving the name of the game and the power/item in question?
Sure. The game is Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and the item is the Light Gem Medallion, which supposedly allows the user to absorb neutral elemental energy. It's also worth noting that the main protagonist of the game and user of the medallion; Gabriel, seems to gain access to infinite magic as a result of some story stuff.
