Adding a New Ability to the Wiki: Anaerobic Respiration.

Throughout my time on the wiki, I have seen profiles that have, "Can breathe underwater" and/or "can breathe in space".

And because of the ubiquitousness of the ability in fiction, I thought it might be a good idea to make a Powers and Abilities page for it.

So I made a blog detailing a very rough draft of what it could look like. And Antvasima responded saying I should make a CRT for it, and so I am.

So thoughts on the ability? Is it needed, or did I waste my time?

I agree. Though I personally don't think that being able to breah underwater really counts (as you can "breathe" oxygen there), I know that it can't really be anywhere else so I guess the page is mostly good.

Being able to survive in outer space would be a good example of Superhuman Survivability that I suggest that could also be added to the wiki & "underwater breathing" would be referred as Aquatic Respiration (meaning that you can breathe both air & water at the same time).

Personally I think it'd be better to have one page that covers everything. It's the ability to breathe in an environment without oxygen, and Anaerobic Respiration seems like the best name for such an ability.

Likewise, after further analysis, I found most lifeforms in fictions don't use oxygen for breathing or some don't required breathing at all like such as those with Abstract Existence, and Non-Corporeal, and Nonexistent Physiology, so having a scientifically based-name is a misnomer.

This seems very reasonable, yes. However, I am concerned regarding it's implementation. The sheer number of characters who possess the ability could be...troublesome.

Nah it's different. Self-Substenance means surviving without oxygen/nutrients/sleep

Type 1 immortality is not dying of old age.

And yeah, non-corporeal characters can be assumed to have it by default

True, but the time also depends an x-factor, a staff who is proficient with MassEdit that is willing to help. Currently, I am trying to master it.

They aren't. Take the Elves from the Lord of The Rings (classic example of type 1 immortality).

They still need to eat, drink, breathe and sleep, otherwise they die

You could be right. I just know a lot of immortal (Type 1) characters, upwards to thousands, whose feats qualified for self-sustenance that were of Abstract Existence, Nonexistent Physiology, Higher-Dimensional Existence, and Beyond-Dimensional Existence.
