I have no idea how far into 8-A Astro Boy is without calcs.

Well you're not in luck! Astro Boy is the only one on the wiki that they gave 8-A+ rating with NO and I mean NO REASONING WHATSOEVER. At least we ('re supposed to) know that he's 8-A+.....? So at least 500 tons. That would mean that Apple Bloom has a maximum of a 70 ton advantage.

100+1000/2 = 550. Applebloom scales to Spike who is 569, so it's more like a 19 tons advantage.

I mean Applebloom has an AP advantage sure, but I don't see how that stops her getting blasted from a distance by Astro Boy. Then again unless there's a calc for his rating idk if this can continue.
