Can other verses be used as examples in a CRT?

If I want to make a CRT, can I use another 'verse than the one I am making a CRT for as an example for why the up- or downgrade should happen?

As a general rule, no, every verse it is own thing and what happens in a verse do not influence another.

I dunno that sounds like a slippery slope into whataboutism to me and can potentially cause future friction between supporters of different verses.

At most, one can make some comparisons to illustrate a point or argument better but relying on how another verse got it's ratings to justify a CRT is just using whataboutism to argue for a tier.

Yeah, this is prone to becoming whataboutism territory. Which is prone to result in false equivalencies with verses having their own thing. And it's especially if verses happen to be rival verses that is prone to promote bad blood between fanbases even if it's a rare case where the points do line up.

Got it, got it. Now, to avoid spamming the forum, would I be able to ask a follow-up question about a particular type of hax in this thread, or would I have to open another thread for that?

You gotta be 100% certain that the two verses should be equivalent in their practices, which is nigh-impossible

As a general rule, as others have said, this should be avoided

Pretty much what Planck, DDM and JustSomeWeirdo said. NEVER, EVER USE ANOTHER VERSE AS AN EXAMPLE TO UPGRADE OR DOWNGRADE ALL OTHER VERSES. DEAL WITH EVERY VERSE SEPARATELY. NEVER TRY A BLANKET-STATEMENT-SITUATION CRT ON MAJORITY OF THEM LIKE THIS.

I don't think there is rule to say no with it, just not usually recommend if you don't have any actual strong arguments besides using other series

Yeah, even if a verse runs on the exact same mechanics as another, it's advised that you should still avoid comparing the two
