Copying character profiles

So in recent history that character profiles get copied (especially from the ACF wiki) has become a more frequent occurence.

Personally I think doing so is a bad idea, for once because it simply is stealing content and work done by someone else. To that comes that the translated articles obviously have bad grammar, often bad formatting and that the stats can often not be proven, because the person that created the article didn´t know enough about the character to do so (else copying the article wouldn´t have been necessary).

Out of this reasons I would suggest making an official rule prohibiting simply copying pages from other sources. Opinions?

I agree with this, also i remeber DarkLK saying something about not wanting us to copy profiles from their wiki

I would say that it seems inappropriate if the pages are going to have bad translations, and the copier knows next to nothing about the series in question, which is what DarkLK objected to. However, on an individual basis we can probably ask DarkLK if it is okay to reference certain statistics for specific characters.

Hmm... Ok, so should we write something to it on the rules page, or will we just deleted unfitting copys with the reason of quality standards?

Hmm... I can, even through technically profiles from the OBD wiki could get copied as well.

Well, as long as they are reliable, they can probably be used as a basis of reference, although copying everything is likely inappropriate. Lord Kavpeny should probably be asked about this as well. My judgement is not the best.

I do not recommend copying the profiles, if the one who does it knows nothing about the series and can not explain these statistics. Moreover, I am opposed to bad translations.

Well, copying with ACF is not technically prohibited. But I can not say the same about OBD and other sites.

Maybe something like: "While using profiles from other wikis as references for statistics is generally not prohibited, if the reasoning for the stats can not be explained if asked, or if the profiles are badly translated they might be deleted"?
