Darkseid and Desaad

Quick question.

I noticed that some of the Darkseid scans are from Action Comics 585 and 586.

However, that comic was shown in New Gods vol 3 #15 to be one of the times Desaad was pretending to be him (second panel to the left) While it could be argued that Desaad knows a lot about Darkseid and is trying to accurately portray him, can we really take these feats without an asterisk?
