Devil May Cry Discussion Thread 7

I can just see Vergil advertising the monster energy drink.

MONSTER! MORE POWER! NOW IM MOTIVATED!

Continuing from the discussion in the previous thread, Base Dante should not be above Urizen. I don't care what the cutscene showed. They made it abundantly clear that Dante needed his Sin DT to overpower normal Urizen. How in the world would he go from needing Sin DT to defeat a normal Urizen to being able to defeat a fruit amped Urizen in base? That's completely nonsensical. Dante and Vergil only surpass fruit Urizen when using their Sin DT.

So what's the overall scaling chain in DMC5?
It seems to be like this:

DT Nero > Sin DT Vergil = Sin DT Dante > Urizen w/ Qliphoth fruit >> Urizen >>>> Base DMC5 Dante >>>> Sparda > Mundus.

Urizen also says before obtaining the fruit that Sparda has no purpose anymore.

...*sigh*

- Nero caught Dante tired (after fighting Vergil) and off guard, and it was BASE Dante who got slapped, and not SDT Dante

- Vergil was also tired

- Remember DMC3, Arkham could stomp Dante and Vergil when they were tired, the same goes here

Or now base Arkham is stronger than DMC3 Dante and Vergil ? No

Also, Nero got slapped by them aswell, but this nobody remember ? Hmm

Also, kinda off topic but the Beastheads shooking the world is at least Low 6-B (see MK Raiden), Dante and DMC can still at least on Tier 6, just be smart

Bye o/

I think Nero is getting kinda highballed. He defeated very tired Vergil and Dante and punched a tired and caught off guard Dante. He should probably be Nero >= Dante/Vergil. I don't think he's that above them, if he even is.

The plot of DMC3 was making Dante and Vergil tire for fighting each other

They get a heavy downgrade with this, Arkham is a fodder and could stomp both Dante and Vergil

Also, Nero slapped a Base Tired off guard Dante, and not SDT Full Power Dante

The best that we can say is that Nero is comparable to Dante and Vergil, but not stronger, the only feat that he have is stopping Dante and Vergil from killing each other, but using this to say that he destroys both of them is wrong, I can stop a fight off two stronger men, doesn't mean that I scale to them

I agree with Nero being highballed. It was quite obvious they were tired, but I'd still say Nero is up there. Just not stronger than them.

nero should be comparable at least but not stronger cuz it was obvious after the constant fighting like in DMC 3 the two were tired so it was easier for nero to stop them.

Lol Nero stops both of them when they were in Majin form and slap Dante and defeat Vergil no problem. We see in the epilogue that Dante and Vergil been fighting each other and demons for weeks, you won't pull DMC3 excuse evrytime Dante fight more than one battle and his stamina insane.

The best you could say in defense for them is they were not in top condition, Nero still slap them no issue.

DMC3 Dante could not even active DT, while here they spam Sin DT no proble and the narrative makes no mention of them begin weakened to the point of even fodder harming them, Dante mocked Vergil for losing twice and even Vergil "who has massive ego" admit that he lost.

Dante and Vergil tire out quickly when they fight each other as shown in DMC3. Vergil even has damage marks all over him after his fight with Dante. Fighting each other and then fighting fodder demons is much different than fighting each other and then proceeding to fight another guy who's pretty much on your level. Nero isn't stomping either of them in top condition and to suggest so is laughable.

That was just a plot point for Arkham to take over for story purpose, Dante fought Arkham who was stronger than he is and still fought Vergil as equal no problem later.

"Dante and Vergi get tired quickly when they fight each other"

Makes no sense what so ever.

This discussion is pointless tho since all of them will be in the same tier anyway.

It makes perfect sense because that was literally a thing in DMC3. Dante and Vergil fighting each other weakened them enough to the point that they lost to Arkham. Hell, the new novel states that Vergil being weakened from fighting with Dante was the only reason Mundus was able to corrupt him in the first place. Mundus felt that had Vergil been in top condition then he would've lost a fight against him. You don't get to deny it just because you don't like it.

That aside. Are we going to use Abigail portal calc or is the tree getting destroyed is going to be calced and we will scale them from that?

I thought the portal feat was thrown out recently and that the series got downgraded to City level?

And you compare DMC5 Dante to 3 Dante just because you don't like that Nero slapped him? Again those 2 were fighting each other for weeks in the underworld and still going, 20 min of fight isn't gonna change anything.

Your claim of Dante losing gets tired pretty quickly when fighting Vergil doesn't even make logical sense, why would he lost stamina faster?

Maybe not far above but Nero is around their tier either way.

Anyway, everyone is getting downgraded to 4 Nero tier right? RIP it's like Nero is cursed

I'm not comparing anything. We have straight up proof that when Dante and Vergil fight each other it weakens them. It happened twice in DMC3. That isn't going to suddenly change in DMC5.

And I never said Nero was weaker, but rather that he's not stronger than them. I believe all three are comparable to each other.

Literally, the only time Dante was weakend from fighting Vergil was in their second battle, in the third battle he fights 2 back to back hard fight and he was still fine and not even out of breath what so ever. Just saying.

Moving on tho.

You can keep denying it as much as you want, but the series speaks for itself. It's a blatant fact that Vergil and Dante fighting each other weakens them.
This shit pretty much says that Mundus needed Vergil to be weakened to take him down, which makes no sense wat so ever.

That's exactly what it says, which means a perfect condition DMC3 Vergil is stronger than a sealed Mundus.

You mean avatar mundus who one shot griffon right? It just doesn't make sense for Dante to get "so weakened" when fighting only fighting Vergil lol.

It just means Dante has shitty stamina overall

Yes, that one. They're outright equals, which means they need to exhaust more stamina when fighting each other than they normally would.

DT Nero clearly scales above SDT Dante and Virgil. Dante is stated to have grown far stronger from the Qliphoth roots feeding him for a month and Virgil is depicted as stronger than Urizen.

SDT Dante took him from being stomped by Urizen to defeating FP Urizen who vastly surpasses Base Urizen.

DT Nero basically blitzed SDT Dante and Vergil and knocked them out of their triggers. Then defeated Virgil, arguably stomped considering he was refilling his devil trigger absurdly fast and it's basically impossible to lose the fight.

1. That's not Dante who grew sronger from the Qliphoth roots. It's Urizen.

2. Nero never blitzed Dante or Vergil.

3. He never knocks them out of their DT. They went back to their regular forms on their own. Nero had nothing to do with it.

4. As has been said about 10 times at this point, Dante and Vergil were clearly weakened from fighting each other prior to that point.

5. Using gameplay mechanics as a means to gauge strength has always been inaccurate and that doesn't change now. And if he had stomped him then Vergil wouldn't have even been able to fight anymore, which clearly wasn't the case.
