Depends on how good the shapeshifting is, and even then, the bus is the one that shapeshifts, ot the people inside; if you really have a problem with my reasoning, just replace "turns the Bus into a potato" with "Power Nulls the Bus", or "Mind Controls everyone", or "sends the Bus to another dimension", or "possesses the Bus", or "gives the people on the Bus a deadly disease", or "erases the Bus from existence", whichever one you like the most.

The Bus can fight on its own so it doesn't need the kids. Though it can't win, I was saying that the reasoning behind it wasn't good.
