So, I noticed that this featt is used to justify Fate being Multi Galaxy level +.

I once showed that to a guy on Comic Vine, here, and he showed me this:

Fate saying that the thing they're holding is Earth.

The full scan of the feat.

He said that the universe being in danger was caused by the event that was happening, and they were just holding Earth together, not the universe.

So, downgrade?

I do not know. He has fought beings much higher than Multi-Galaxy level during his career. I think that Earth was just the focal point for the destruction, but am not sure how we should handke this? More input would be appreciated.

I don't know about other instances, but this one feat doesn't seem to be on that level with the full context added.

Well, if someone can find scans of him being Multi-Galaxy, it can be swapped with the scan he has now. Or alternatively, we can add in that he can fight characters that are Multi-Galaxy. Unless he has better feats than Multi-Galaxy.

Well, I think that the feat seems to be legitimate. Doctor Fate and the Spectre together prevented the destruction of a universe, and the Earth seems to simply have been the focal point, and/or origin of the destruction.

I can see it being legitimate. Spectre was talking about the universe being destroyed. Why would he say that if they were just preventing Earth from being destroyed? And couldn't he prevent Earth being destroyed by himself?

Well, isn't Earth one of the linchpoints of the universe, or something? Most of the important "the universe is going to end" stuff happens around there. Though I don't know exactly why the universe was in danger.

And the Spectre tends to not show that much power. I've seen Captain Marvel and the like giving him trouble. He doesn't always operate at those cosmic levels.

Does anyone here actually read this story?

No. Sorry. I haven't read much Pre-Crisis stuff.

You're wrong

Dr fate has many other Multiversal feats :

Lords of Order battle with the Lords of Chaos determines the fate of entire realities and dimensions (who's who v2 #10). Furthermore this was confirmed in the events of Dr Fate v2.

They also created the Multiverse from scratch ( void ) in Dr Fate v2 #6:

The creation story has been referrenced several times during other arcs

Dr Stoner Anti fate possessing a part of Nabu's power was able to beat the phantom stranger. And he has created an entire universe, the one in his helmet which was stated to be dissociated from all the other realities, was created by him.

Nabu alone was implied to be able to re-create the devastation that happened in Zero Hour

Fate v1 20-22. Nabu also defeated a being with the power of every Lord of Order and Chaos

Their conflict is eternal because chaos and order balance each other out, but when chaos gets the upper hand, then this happens (Dr fate v2 #10):

This is a very old discussion. Replying to it is redundant.
