DOOM Discussion Thread

So Kratos is 11-C?

0-D Kratos 🥳, I think people have a tendency to overestimate just how much writers actually think about this kind of stuff.

I actually wonder if we should ban the user one way or another. If there was an actual message, it probably be help.bethesda.net and not something that looks quite specific.
I actually know this individual off-site. He's known for using fake scans to scale God of War and his other verses, which has been brought up numerous times against him but still insists on using them, and otherwise he isn't exactly a person we should be listening to when it comes to scaling. A ban or warning for attempting to spread misinformation using probable fake scans isn't a good idea, personally speaking.

Doom Slayer is pretty much the Saitama of video game protagonist, but obviously I do not trust fanboys going overboard in saying "Strongest in all of fiction."

I just saw through the previous livestream, in which someone basically spammed a battleboarding question to hugo in order to downscale the slayer, and was denied
The question was about the dreadmace and it's infinite density, he basically confirmed that it's not just flowery language, and that it's the attempts of the scientists explaining it's power and that it's possible because it's the cosmic realm

Edit: actually, let me find the question it was quite funny

I looked at the live stream and he said "it's somewhere in the middle" so its flowery language to a degree
"In the middle" of what? Is would be the next follow up question. Middle of "Kinetic Energy" and "Big Bang," or in the middle of "Being all that" and "Poetic Language." Latter doesn't even make sense.

where exactly did he say what the codex stated is flowery language? he simply said the question the person asked was somewhere in the middle, which it was an extreme battleboarding question. his actual response to the core was, that it's part of the cosmic realm, and that it was the scientists attempt at explaining it's power.

the question itself was asked in such a way, that hugo basically had to say "yeah it replicates a big bang with every hit" due to how it was phrased, the in the middle aspect and the way he phrased, and elaborated that it's the cosmic realm would simply imply that infinite density is possible due to it being the cosmic realm.

The core is that he didn't deny what the text said, or described it as flowery language, or said it shouldn't be taken serious, meaning that the interpretation is correct
The justification for the text is basically: it's part of the cosmic realm, which is the argument the DOOM fans have also used and which is the most logical one

personally, i believe if someone asks such an extreme question, and the author doesn't deny it, and elaborates a bit on it, with some reasoning about the codex says a lot to me personally.

the grunt of the argument im providing is, he started off by replying to the extreme with a "it's somewhere in the middle" which is specifically referred to the question, and went further on to elaborate about what the codex said, and the justification that was given by him is basically that it's part of the cosmic realm.

The justification for the codex, by using the cosmic realm is what believes me to think the interpretation of it being literally infinitely dense makes is the most likely part, and the most supported.

Unused codex file, from the decl files in doom the dark ages about the royal atlan
It's not usable, since they didn't end up actually using it, but still an interesting find.

Hey could you give your input here? We are questioning Doom's validity on their CM.

Okay, apparently we can expect ALOT of new lore with the new DLC.

They will also elaborate as to why Atlans are capable of killing Titans.

Whats your fave modern doom game?

My order is

1. Eternal
2. 2016
3. Dark Ages
Story wise
  1. Dark Ages
  2. Eternal
  3. 2016
Gameplay and basically overall
  1. Eternal
  2. Dark Ages
  3. 2016
Also, when it comes to Atlans and Titans, I think we agreed with High 3-A scaling. Because Doomguy using Dreadmace was actually before he was considered bald Saitama levels of OP compared to everyone else with "The Titan" being his only match mentioned in 2016. And various boss fights in Dark Ages did require Doomguy to power up before turning the tables even though Dreadmace was something he was more than capable of before the power ups and what not. But we'll see more in the DLC.

Pretty sure it was specifically mentioned as to why atlans can "kill" titans despite titans being stated to be immortal, they were going to clarify more on that,
And hugo stated they deliberately reduced lore in the dark ages, but saw that the feedback was negative and assured the fans that we'd be eating good in terms of lore with the new DLC, during the last dev stream.

I was trying to ask him if we'd get a teaser of the being that created Davoth and the void at some point 😔

Also, the codex was inspired by the bible, that as well.

Hmm, im not certain though, I do think dreadmace > titans
As the champion titan was an amalgamation of the rage and empowered by all the demons he had ever slain, so i don't think "normal titans" would scale.
However, with what i've seen from the "unused royal atlan" is that they most likely do have the power of a supernova though, and would atleast scale around planetary - stellar i'd say.

Did ya win?
It's not really hard to counter argue in game feats that contradict the narrative and lore of the game

the rock platform calc is unusable due the substance being unknown, it also makes absolutely no sense in the narrative, as the old ones are the gods of the cosmic realm.
even just the cosmic cacodemon scales above planetary, let alone the higher beings.

Cinematic trailer is irrelevant, as it has absolutely nothing to do with the game itself, name says everything you know "cinematic"

the BFG calc of the spider mastermind is also useless, and any other in game feat that was brought up

Most of the arguing was about AP =/= DC and his main counter argument for Davoth being block level is due the street beneath the slayer and davoth not exploding, and them not creating multiversal explosions with every exchange in a cutscene exchange

@Firestorm808
Im currently making a draft for the Void to qualify, as a possibly BDE 3.
The draft will also address things like a "bathtub void" which is not what it is.

I've been told that you're quite knowledgeable about the subject, so if you could would you mind checking it out and giving your opinion?

Once i get some feedback, i can start working on making a proper thread and cosmological upgrade.

Edit: @DarkDragonMedeus I can also show it to you, if you're interested.
