Doomguy VS Monsoon

I'm not talking about this match in this case. I'm explaining why the grenades hit Monsoon in Metal Gear Rising. Not only were they thrown by Jack the Ripper the EMP travels at lightspeed but it's also amplified by glorious game mechanics. Like, you know, in games bosses aren't sometimes exactly acting like they would normally in lore.

Of course it's not a stomp. If Doomguy manages to hit Monsoon directly in the head he can probably win (though his head got chopped to ribbons by Raiden and Monsoon still could talk, type 2 immortality I guess). I just don't see it exactly happening in match, because his head is also automatically dodging attacks. I just believe Doomguy, even though he's hella strong, would have it rough in this fight since Monsoon is hella OP, even in his own verse and has that sweet hax. I'll come take a better look at this match when I get to play ETERNAL though, maybe there's some useful stuff.

Wonder if any Metal Gear characters can fight InFAMOUS. Given all stars PlayStation

Any inFAMOUS characters, also isn't it like Low 7B for nukes back then?

Nah not really. MGS nukes were really much more advanced than WW2 nukes. In Peace Walker Otacon's dad stated that the Metal Gear "Peace Walker" is fully designed to survive nuclear war and can self destruct with potency of Tsar bomba, and it all happens during 1974. The Rising Metal Gears are far superior to that, and guess what characters there suplex them physically :P

Yeah but WW2 Nukes are 7C.

We don't scale characters to self destructing either. As awesome as that would be

Well yeah, there were not any Low 7-B nukes in humanity arsenal, but Peace Walker got 1 megaton ballistic missle. Still it scales to 7-B so InFAMOUS can be thrown at MGR:R just fine.

Of course we do not scale to self destructing but I just noted that (if we scaled self destruction then it would be 7-A), all Metal Gears are nuclear weapons and with Huey's statement (the creator) it's pretty solid that they are 7-B.

You can ignore that. That's just its arsenal, a ballistic missle, not a direct nuclear bomb of Cold War times. We just know from Huey it can survive direct nuclear war, can shoot 1 megaton ballistic missles and its self destruction is superior to Tsar bomba. We do not scale self destruction and the missle is below Cold War nuke, so there's only one option for scaling.

About Peace Walker, technically we DO count self destruction for tier, but we need to specify it, and it obviously doesn't scale to durability, we'd give a "at least 7-A with Hydrogen bomb" rating to AP. We also need to create a profile for Peace Walker in order to scale its AP (REX's nukes would scale above those of Peace Walker, since they are top tier weapons in terms of tech and power) and dura to other characters. And also create a profile for The Sorrow (by removing The Pain's i guess, why the hell is that profile even a thing) because he's cool as hell and completely busted in terms of power.

And from my research, Cold War nukes were all in the Low 7-B range, some were 7-B, but most low yield nukes (Low 7-C, 7-C) were discontinued in the 50's, add to this the fact that in MG nukes are being developed even after the 1963 treaty (The Boss' Davy Crockett is an experimental, stronger version, which means that they are still developing more powerful bombs).

The only wank going on in this thread is the idea that monsoon will dodge everything when speed is equalized.

Especially when he dodged everything from a guy who's in base equal to him in speed. Well not base but Ripper Mode. The only reason Jack could kill him was because of Blade Mode, 10x speed amp.

What speed amps? I see nothing of the sort on his profile it just says his reactions are at default faster than his movements.

Yeah this will be included in the CRT. His profile is extremely bare, we are already discussing this with Twellas. The amps are via his electromagnetic energy.

And doomguy might end up being ftl after eternal CRT is done so I guess this is going to be revisited.

It is possible, 7-B or Low 7-B, but it depends what nuke we choose to scale strong Metal Gears to. Probably the stronger ones.

Maybe Asta/Yami vs Armstrong too, lol.
Even both at once would work :P

If the upgrade gets through, and I hope it does as there's some good evidence, I might do some MGR vs DMC and BC matches

So wait does his speed boost have to consciously activated or is activated though his instinctive reaction?

Really? It could work if Armstrong has a higher AP than the both.

I thought about Slime 7-Bs vs MGR, BC, or DOOM but... something tells me most won't go well.

@DTG499

I have no idea, to be honest. I think the first option.

@Milly

I think he does. If we scale Metal Gear Peace Walker (the one with nuke surviving statement) to, for example, Castle Bravo explosion then it's 15 megatons. MGR Metal Gears are superior to that, and EXCELSUS fodderizes Metal Gear Ray, that already should be much better than Peace Walker, and Armstrong one shotted EXCELSUS with a punch so he scales much above that. Duo vs one matches are allowed I think, as long as two characters had a duo fight, side by side.

And nah don't, Slime is busted :p

If so I still think it's not a cut and dry guarantee 10/10 chance for monsoon because who ever ends up winning the match is only going to take a couple seconds. Honestly I'd say monsoon wins 3 out of the 5 times. The other 2 is when he gets cocky and tries to walk though what would look like a normal grenade to him.

Edit: I'm actually leaning towards a 50/50 chance for either of them now.

Awesome. Hope to see the upgrades.

The only upgrade that is kinda iffy is the FTL one, mainly because it's not really sol but relativistic+ (0.9999999998c) and also because it's just a possibility that RAY scales above the laser in terms of speed, there are no actual feats for that, but since the whole point of RAY was to beat REX via speed, then it's not a stretch at all to say that it would be able to dodge its most notable weapon.

The 7-B stuff is basically already done, it's just a matter of choosing either Low or normal 7-B

The thing that hypes me the most is The Sorrow's profile tbh, that guy is basically busted for a 8-B, passive death manipulation, 3 immortalities, soul destruction, intangibility and more.
