- The Original Manga shows this and this , Bardock appearance is both retconned by Minus and Broly Movie.

Chelai and Lemo are from my understanding flashback characters since the scene where kid Broly looks up fits the scene where the both act suprised
 
Yes. Lastly, it seems that Vegeta has the same age as Goku, which translates to 25 - 48 (physically 53), Broly is also at the same as age as them.
 
Did they really have to recton Vegeta age as well? pretty sure Vegeta was like 5 years older than Goku....
 
I think that the Supernova is just potrayed differently due to the art style, pretty sure we can use the original DBS calc still.

We dont know if bardock fights against freeza. The trailer suggest not such thing but trailers can be misleading.

And recalculating freeza's supernova? Wow really? Based on what?

That's not a recent thing, it happened in DB Minus which is considered in the movie. Toriyama seems to have given that age for the canon versions of Vegeta, so we could apply it.
 
Pretty sure even in minus Vegeta was some years older than Goku. He was already sent along with Raditz "Goku big brother" to another planet while Goku was still not of age and was sent to Earth.
 
Suprised that people never knew Bardock wasn't canon, atleast his bandana badass version, Minus was the canon Bardock for better or worse

Nevermind, Minus even retconned Goku being raised by Gohan, it also showed Bardock partner and Vegeta.

The whole Bardock the father of Goku Special, including Frieza appearance during that period and him confronting Bardock, Vegeta being much older than Goku, Grandpa Goku raising a Baby Goku, and likely Goku hitting his head.
 
Raditz mentioned Goku was supposed to conquer earth in a mission, yet Minus says that Bardock merely wanted to rescue Goku and sent him to earth where he can survive. Another one is Kai showing a baby Goku, yet Minus shows a more aged one with armor etc. i could go on
 
Honestly, this contradicts every single piece of media. In most points in Dragon Ball — no matter if it's canon or not — the planet or other (in Piccolo's case) is scattered across space. This is obviously excluding Vegeta and Goku's fight, as Earth would be reduced to ashes. Some examples:

Kid Buu destroys Earth.

Frieza destroys planet Vegeta.

Frieza destroys the Earth.

Piccolo destroys the Moon.

Vegeta destroys Arlia.

Namek blows up.

In all media Frieza does the same to Vegeta, it's even implied he did so in the original manga, as you can see bits of scattered rock and the light from the supernova going upwards. Bardock was also near space.

We don't even know that it won't here. The Supernova could nuke it, and then blast it to bits.

Speaking of Frieza, wasn't his Final Form supposed to be upgraded to Small Star level or something.
 
Why is "corebusting" a thing? We haven't even seen the explosion yet. Pretty sure, it will be the same as before.
 
Are people 100% sure that this movie is actually canon, because goddamn these are some hefty retcons. Pretty much changed the entirety of Goku's origin.

Dude, Akira Toriyama is heavily involved in this. More than any other movie till date. Either he wanted to change the backstory and retcon it as per his liking, or he just forgot his own work like always. I think it's the former because there is a whole team of writers who would have reminded him if he simply forgot.
