This is also based on the fact that base SSG got retconned since yellow SSJ got used again. Also clearly showing both Goku and Vegeta reach SSG power with their god transformations and Cabba wants to reach it because he is fodder to BoG SSG Goku.

SSG power and SSG form are synonymous and going SSJ on base SSG power is SSB (RoF Anime)

How would he even know that his base is compable to a ssg in the first place. This argument doesn’t make any sense because it assumes transformations to be at a certain level of power, irrespective of the base power of the user
