To qualify for the World Cup in CONCACAF (the confederation that Costa Rica belongs to), a team must finish first or second in its qualifying group, and unfortunately, they didn't manage to do so.

I've decided to cheer for Japan so ig I am happy about that. It's just that the same few countries seem to win every time (Germany, France, Argentina, Brazil, Italy, rinse and repeat. Brazil fell off so might as well delete that one. Spain won once too ig) so at this point it's basically - oh wow, who of these few countries putting money into athleters will win this time?

If Japan wins somehow I'd be thrilled since it'd finally shift things around but like, I feel we'll be seeing the same victors again.

France are the leading favourites; they dominate both boxes but their weakness is that they have a weak midfield.
