General DC Comics Discussion Thread

The Spectre throughout his long publishing history at DC has shown more variability than any other character in the franchise. At times he is treated as just a ghost with supernatural powers and at the opposite end of the spectrum he was said to have had the power to defeat The Great Darkness itself. Scaling anyone to the Spectre is an exercise in futility.

Yep

Heck even recently a weakened Aztar bullied Raven

I don't think that it makes sense for him to defeat The Flash. 🙏

Nope, not as far as I recall from the scans in question. 🙏

It appears that he transmuted The Flash into wood or something like that. Now how he managed to turn him into wood before Flash blitzed him is the question. It is likely that Flash didn’t blitz him because Firestorm is a fellow hero so he probably didn’t think he would be turned into wood. (The obvious answer is the writer not thinking about that.)

Well flash could think that it's his friend and no need to go all out

Fury of Firestorm 3 was pure glaze tho

Mind controlled Alfred beats up a green lantern

Simon straight up says that he got sucker punched here. He's not gonna be on guard in the Batcave and he's definitely not gonna think that Alfred is about to smash a plate over his head and punch him in the face.

Anyway I vaguely remember an instance of Superman surviving an explosion that was "50 times as large as Kepler's supernova", does anybody know what comic it originates from, and if so, could we use it for lower-end durability and heat resistance for Supes?

That's actually a durability feat for a superman who was already weakend by red sun beams from a suneater
