Groudon not only resist Eruptor's primary means of attack, but also is more hax in general. He will also restore himself from standing in lava. With the ability for fear inducement and Fissure, he can make it harder for Eruptor to act and BFR for a solid win condition. For these reasons, I vote for Groudon

Fight him in CQC. Eruptor has some actual level of skill to his fighting style, so perhaps he can compensate with that. It's not much, but it at least gives him some way he could possibly win

He has melee, which isn't lava based. Also his weaponry and regen

Eruptor is made of lava, his melee attacks are lava, and all of his weaponry is made of lava. Groudon will be resisting and healing from any attack that Eruptor throws at him

Groudon doesn't heal from the lava attacks themselves, he is healed from the aftermath. The attacks themselves will effect him even if he is somewhat resistant, and only once Groudon stands in the pools left over will they heal him. So melee is still fine

He is, but Eruptor has the skill advantage. I don't think Groudon would resist basic melee hits just cuz they happen to be hot

In addition, Groudon is gonna have issues actually putting him down because of Eruptor's regen. He is going have to beat him into a pretty extreme pulp before he actually goes down. It's pretty conclusive, but it isn't a stomp

Groudon literally eats physical hits for days. Also, there's no reason why Primal Groudon shouldn't just go for an OHKO with Fissure.
