How do language barriers come into play in matches?

For example, take Cobra from fairy tail. He can read your thoughts. Say he tries to read the thoughts of Daredevil. Daredevil speaks English while Cobra speaks Japanese. Or say Wonder Woman tries to use the Lasso of Truth on Kazuma. If she tries to ask him something, will he spout something in Japanese she won't understand (she might be able to speak JP, idk)?

I mean, technically Cobra can speak English as well :p

As for everything else...this is something we don't really think about. (We assume everyone has a dub voice kappa)

Cobra can't speak English. To be fair, he technically can't speak Japanese either, since Fairy Tail takes place in a purely fantastical world.

On other hand, I think we should handle this on the same way Tekke does. So, ignore it.

If it's a weakness of theirs that they can't read thoughts in foreign languages, then they probably can't. Although this gets messy with characters who rely on others understanding what they mean (say, Killgrave, or Medaka Box Style users).

Unless there's a very overly specific case like one in Medaka box, I think we just ignore it

If one character specifically speaks a different language to confuse people and the other person isn't aware of the language. I can see it matter there

I guess we should judge by a case-by-case basis for this. If translation issues are shown to be a problem in-verse, it's a problem in-match. If it isn't mentioned in-verse, then we can just ignore it.

Shouldn't it be assumed that characters understand each other by default in VS matches? After all, most characters understand each other even if they came from other countries (like in Avatar) or even different planets (such as in Star Trek, Star Wars and other sci-fi verses)

Those seem to just have common languages that are used in most places. Even then, they can have others as well, like C-3PO knowing thousands of languages and being used as a translator.
