How to calculate the formation of sunspots?

This is for DC Comics, Eradicator creates sunspots. However the math looks complicated (Like differential eqautions stuff)

Is there a way to roughly calculate the energy of creating a sunspot on the Sun? It requires the usage of some electromagnetics, I know the magnetic flux of a sunspot is 150,000,000 webers per square meter, but IDK what else to do. What is needed to be done?
