Basically, x alien species (alien superhumans like Kryptonians that are also Extradimensional and have creation powers that manifests in battles as godlike telekinesis) can get progressively and permanently stronger by coping and dealing with adversity (physical, mental, psychological, etc). It’s actually coping with the emotions brought from the anguish that makes them stronger. While they love to fight, most in the middle class tend to be empathetic towards the plight of others, the aristocrats tend to be more bloodthirsty and psychopathic, so they really need to rely on vampirism more. Ashtarzians are basically space solar vampires.
Near the age of 18, x aliens undergo a transformation that gives them most of their adult powers and makes them look angelic. Sometimes, to attain this, you need to die and completely revive first, like a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly. The transformation is permanent.
They also get stronger through training and have no upper ceiling.
My question is how would one make all of this more different from the DBZ Saiyans’ Zenkai power boosts? It feels like I subconsciously made a passive superpower that sounds too similar on paper. It seems they’re in the same family of power boosts. Or should I just scrap the idea that stress makes you stronger full stop?
Thanks much in advance.
