Doggo excellently sums up why MrKerf's arguments are incredibly flawed here
If L couldn't get Light to crack, then I don't see how Doakes could get him to. Hell, not only was L a far superior mind to Doakes, but he also had a TON of resources and absurd levels of anonymity to keep his true identity hidden. Literally, what's Doakes gonna do to keep his name hidden? Honestly, I feel like Light would be able to VERY EASILY get the name either by himself with limited research, or by getting it through someone like Laguerta (and that's taking into account the assumption that Doakes told her that he wanted his real name being kept hidden). It wouldn't be that different from what he pulled with Misora

Dawg, if L can't do it, neither could Doakes. You have zero refutations to my last comment. L was not only smarter with far more resources, but also had insane levels of intuition
Even if Doakes knows Light is Kira, he can't prove it, and bro will only be arrested if he breaks into Light's house. Light had contingencies in case someone broke into his room, which is how he figured out L had planted wire traps at his home. I also doubt Doakes has the engineering knowledge to figure out the false bottom trap. You're overestimating his intuition here.

Imagine Dexter and Doakes just met in a cafe one day and Doakes goes "I know for sure that you're the Bay Harbour Butcher, Morgan. Admit it." and Dexter just goes "Yup, I'm the Bay Harbour Butcher alright. The **** you gonna do about it?", then they just start a screaming match for no reason.
Except this is even worse because Light and L just met for the first time. Light immediately revealed that he knew L somehow and L doesn't even try to hide who he is (no point in doing that if Light already knew though so I guess it made sense?)
All Doakes has to do is ragebait and record Light's confession.

Indeed lol. Like anime, Light did have his idiotic moments (Lind L. Taylor incident), but Netflix Light caving in because someone told him he knows he is Kira is absurdly dumb. If that was canon Light, he would just laugh at L's face and threaten to sue him for falsely accusing an innocent person.
