Kal, Saik, and I were talking about this on my wall, as Sunny Day users and Madotsuki have feats of doing so. And we kinda...have no idea how to calc this. I'm not exactly sure what board this goes on, but this seems like a good one. What would be the energy needed to intensify the sun?

For my case it was more like just outright luminosity feat though (Lighting up so hard as to light up the moon)

I remember Sanae's feat of making distant stars appear midday to be Low 5-B, for what it matters.

Well in the case of Sunny Day users, "The user intensifies the sun for five turns, powering up Fire-type moves." It's by an unknown amount, but either 1.5 times 2 times would be good assumptions, given that it powers up Fire moves by 1.5x and ups the stats of a Solar Power/Flower Gift user that much, and halves the power of water moves and the charge time of Solar Beam/Blade, while doubling the effectiveness of Growth and the speed of a Chlorophyll user.

It doesn't say otherwise, so we have to go with what's given in the flavor text, which outright says the sun rather than the area.

There's a pretty good calculation of it for Percy Jackson that goes over how its done. You increase the apparent luminosity of the star.

I kinda doubt sunny day is to be taken to make global changes. Wasn't even Groudons draught locally restricted, with only certain areas being exceptionally sunny?

That aside this tells you the normal amount of energy per area that reaches earth, so if you just want to apply some multiplier to that, it is easy to do.

Pretty sure Groudon was on a global scale, so was Kyogre.
Yeah, Groudon was planetary, and also much harsher and kinda permanent.

Groudon Draught is global only in the main event. In the post-game the ability is only in a single route, the one that Groudon are. I think that is this what DT is referring.

I'd rather sate my curiosity by calc'ing what I wanted before continuing that, but pretty sure this falls under the fact that writers had no idea how powerful they made a feat (though, I don't know yet myself).
