No, that's more Type 1. They don't require air for respiratory function, which would allow them to operate in places, at least for a period of time, that beings like humans wouldn't be able to at all without some kind outside help.
It can't be Type 2 because the character still needs nutrition. It's just that they need air for that instead of breathing.
